An independent, single mother who owns a small hotel on an idyllic Greek island, Donna (Meryl Streep) is about to let go of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), the spirited daughter she's raised alone. For Sophie's wedding, Donna has invited her two lifelong best friends-practical and no-nonsense Rose (Julie Walters) and wealthy, multi-divorcee Tanya (Christine Baranski)-from her one-time backing band, Donna and the Dynamos. But Sophie has secretly invited three guests of her own.

On a quest to find the identity of her father to walk her down the aisle, she brings back three men from Donna's past to the Mediterranean paradise they visited 20 years earlier. Over 24 chaotic, magical hours, new love will bloom and old romances will be rekindled on this lush island full of possibilities.

Inspired by the storytelling magic of ABBA's songs from "Dancing Queen" and "S.O.S." to "Money, Money, Money" and "Take a Chance on Me." Mamma Mia! is a celebration of mothers and daughters, old friends and new family found.

TBH i should like it as generally like 'chick flicks' and quite happy with the odd musical or two but the sight of a bunch of old women prancing about screaching like 12 year olds made me shudder :-D

I did consider buying this for a certain someone, but then several people have probably already bought it for her.

laze

Is it worth it vs getting it for 8 or 9 squid from Morrisons or Asda, etc.?

Are the other bit n bobs worth the extra?

If the consensus is yes, I might get it as an Xmas present for my gf!

great, thanks. heat added

cheapest you can get the film alone is around £12 now. I'm not sure this is worth the extra, all you get is a notebook

what does it contains the music sound track and DVD?????cannot actually find what is in the so called gift pack???pen journal and DVD????

Argos is the cheapest for just DVD as it is only 9.97..............

This is showing as £17.99 for me :?

If you have a Blu-ray player, this film is available on Blu-ray from Lovefilm for under £14

Good offer. Voted Hot!!

£17.99 now

Not worth the extra when the dvd can be had for less than a tenner. COLD from me and up to 17.99 now.

Not liking this offer!

Bascially get the journal and pen extra - the 'normal' DVD gives the same extras!

Not good value when you can get the DVD for £7

Great film though! x

It is now £17.99 :x

This is showing at £17.99 for me too:(

I would love to find anywhere you can buy the DVD for less than £12-14 at the moment

£17.99 now

Cold... now £17.99

Amazon doing it for 14.98

I'd say the extras are neglible, but if you're getting it for someone else it's always nice to have a little bit extra rather than just a DVD

I bought this for the missus for her birthday, for £17.99. Smart buy - she loved it!

Argos are out of stock. I begrudge paying £12 for this when you know in a month or two it'll be half the price!

now £17.99
