Denzel Washington stars as a government operative/soldier of fortune who has pretty much given up on life. In Mexico City, he reluctantly agrees to take a job to protect a child whose parents are threatened by a wave of kidnappings. He eventually becomes close to the child and their relationship reawakens and rekindles his spirit. When she is abducted, his fiery rage is unleashed on those he feels responsible, and he stops at nothing to save her.

I loved the book, but have been disappointed with both film versions. Still a good price, heat added.

Both film versions? whats the other?

Yet another "deal" at an average price for an ancient DVD.

We shall soon have every item on Play and HMV listed on this site the way its going ........

The other Man On Fire film is the 1987 version, it's much closer to the book (though neither are as good as the book IMHO).

Wasn't aware of an earlier version... I do like this one though, and now you've both said something that I 100% agree with - books usuall are better - I think I may well have a go at reading it as well!

£3 for a relatively old DVD might not seem outstanding but it's worth every penny in my book... No pun intended! :whistling:

I suppose I'm terribly biased as this is one of my favourite books, ever. I have actually bought it three times, have loaned it out three times and still don't have a copy as this is one book that seems to get passed on. It's by AJ Quinnell and you should be able to find it in your library.

nearly bought this today from asda @ £3 reduced from £5
