I really wish I could, not been for 2 years now and I so want to go! Might have a look once exams are out of the way and see what deals are around.
Would love to do this, but not sure whether I would enjoy it if I went on my own (no one else is available to go with me)....

Maybe that's where I am going wrong....
If there's just the 1 or 2 of you and you want checked luggage then I'd recommend the premium class upgrade.
It varies a lot, but without trying too hard just found it at £249 each on a £229 flight, think I paid £189 when I last used it?
ok, so it's more than the flight but I found worth the money.
Checked in bag included, £60+ otherwise.
priority boarding and passpost control (uk), not having to stand in the queue at sanford was brilliant!
Lounge access, both here and there (although it now states UK only it was both?)
Bigger seat, more legroom, think you can prebook it too(?), all of which are options if you're in economy, but at something like £40 and £50+, depending which flight/demand.

Just my opinion like, wouldn't hesitate to fly with them again, especially in premium as long as I can justify the price upgrade as above makes it worthwhile for me

And Sanford, although it's grown a lot over the years, was still so much easier than Orlando to get in and out of.
I was the first one out the airport from my flight, bags were in the hall when we got there from the plane, picked it up and walked straight out, much better than the 94 minutes it took to get through Orlando in March this year.
Don't know if it's still the same, but coming back, all food and snacks (you can't have drinks anyway) had to be removed from hand luggage and scanned!
Along with electronics and phones and shoes and belts, etc. which I know has to be done these days but it took an age.
My hand luggage was basically sweets and crisps for the kids and electronics for me, had to take it all out and put it in trays and coudln't stack anything on top of anything, all had to be separate.
This was coming back, which has always been slow going, but was even more slow going.
They're also building a new terminal at Orlando which is great, but a pain if you're not sure where you're supposed to be going/driving.

Car hire is awful at Sanford though compared to Orlando.
Be aware that this doesn't include baggage allowance which is minimum £60pp for 20kg or £80 for 25kg

Not been into Sanford recently, but it seemed easy enough?
have tended to prefer Alamo, they’ve just seemed more straightforward, Dollar at Orlando can be so slow! (They even managed to “resell” the car I’d ordered and already paid for, because I was late arriving! Couldn’t upgrade me as I was later than expected could downgrade me or I could wait another 40 minutes why they sorted the correct car out? Tend not to use Dollar if I can help it , just my experience on one occasion, prior to that they’d been ok

Search and select the flight you’re interested in, on the next page after you’ve selected it, it lists all available upgrades and options.
things like extra leg room seats, exit seats, baggage and ‘if there’s any available’ the premium upgrade seats.
when you’ve looked at a couple you’ll get the idea, the premium cabin is small so there’s not always availability and if there’s 4 or more of you it can start to get expensive, but Florida’s never really been a “cheap” holiday
There seems to be (or was as I was looking) premium club seats on the 21st and 25th, didn’t look at any others, only 3 on each though.
£217 on the 21st which is even better value
Just a tip. Car hire is always a risky business - will I get ripped off for damage already there on the car before I drive it away? It's not so much of a problem in the US as elsewhere, like Spain, Italy etc, but to be on the safe side I'd recommend you do a walk around the car with a member of staff noting any existing damage (they're supposed to do this but never do) and/or do a walk round taking a video of all 4 sides and top of the car, focusing in on any areas of damage, scratches, nicks, dings etc., making sure you are seen doing it. Same thing when you return it.

A few minutes start and finish of your holiday could well save you a headache and lots of cash later on down the line. There's also insurance you can take out here before you go to cover any damage excess and the like. Can't remember what it's called but it will be around £20-£25 and will replace/compliment the insurance you get out there. Again, not so much a problem in the US, but car hire staff always try to scare you or put a massive charge on your credit card to cover damage trying to force you to take out their additional, but expensive, further cover instead. Some may even say that your UK cover is irrelevant and won't cover you so you MUST take out their additional cover. Bunkum - just ignore them as you don't have to.

Cracking deal - and I'm only 2 miles from Gatwick! But wife works for an airline so gets 12 free flights a year luckily!
MAN to SFB, 28th April to 8th may, £229 pp if you can make those dates work for ya?
there’s also premium club seats at £195

I got a premium upgrade with 'extra legroom' on a transatlantic flight back when they were First Choice. We got stuck in front of a wall. As you can't put your foot underneath a sheer wall the practical result was that you basically had less room to stretch your legs than with regular seats. Our upgrade didn't cost us anything (staff benefit) so we didn't really have a moan but the people next to us had paid a fair bit and weren't happy.

Not convinced they've improved things since they were taken over.
