Just spotted this... nice and cheap and a good time to visit South East Asia...

Please note you can get cheaper prices to South East Asia such as Manila, but they are with China Southern - i would rather pay more for a better flight.

Dates i have been searching is November 1 to 14, but others should be available.

Hotukdeals as stripped out the links, the missing bit is - bit ly (with a "." in the middle).

http:/****/1XGGRBD - MAN>MNL £409 (lots of islands to visit)
http:/****/1XGGRBD - MAN>KUL £369 (best to get to Bali via air aisa)
http:/****/1VenUFY - MAN>BKK £331 (best to get to Yangon via air asia)

All flight times seem good, with short connections so far. Please check the aircraft to get the best quality experience as the A380 is being dropped from BKK route and the 787 (Dreamliner) is now in the Manchester route. With Qatar airways the aircraft changes so they may change due to the shortage of the A350.

Most likely booking into class O, so not great for a mileage run, but good for a holiday.

If you fly into Manila, you can get lots of cheap flights all around the Philippines - I would recommend people to visit Palawan (El Nido and Coron), Camiguin, Boracay (lots of tourists now), Bohol, Malapascua to name a few places to visit.

Flight to KUL are normally £500 and it's a great place to fly to if you want to go to Bali as KUL the home of AirAsia and it's often <£20 from KUL to DPS.

Flights to BKK are cheap and the best value option is to book a flight from BKK to RGN with a LCC as flights from the UK to RGN are normally £600+ and it should be <£30 to RGN. If you have not been to Burma, it's great - though you can tell it is going to change very very quickly (I went in 2014).

Hope this helps, any tips needed or ideas on where to travel from these flights let me know...

You can also book flights to Australia at the Qatar Airways UK site for under £500. Not a bad price at all :-)

If you have a halifax account you can get cash back (it's listed on offers when you login online) for 8%, plus cash back from quidco too... so it makes a great price even better... not that i need to to oz..
Quote from the last Bangkok offer... "Q: What's there to do in Bangkok? A: The clue's in the name." :-)
What was great about Burma if you don't mind me asking?

What was great about Burma

I loved the feeling i got in Burma, you could tell things are starting to change, but things were still Asian. I am lucky and have travelled to over 100 countries including most of South-East Asia, never had this feeling before. They have cars with steering wheel on the right hand side, but drove on the left (cars from Japan, but driving the same side as the europeans) - highly dangerous.

With my domestic flights they just cancel or change the times when they wanted, i woke up at 2am - checked my emails as you do and i found out at 1am they emailed to say my flight had changed from 4pm to 6am. When i got the flight it must have been some big shot as lots of staff lined up to take photo's with him... One of my boarding passes was made from cardboard!

Beer is cheap, weather is good... Not been to the beach yet...

Loved the mix of indian in the culture...

Just lots of things, i could not put my finger on it.... 100% will go back.
Thanks.
I'm tempted to try 2 countries in a 2 week holiday later this year and you've just put this on the itinerary.
Anywhere else in SE Asia you'd highly recommend?

Do to travel issues in Burma (part of the charm), i would not recommend it if you are on a short time scale. It all depends on what you are after tbh...

I love the Philippines, but I would stay away from Manila - it's a great city, but you need to know the city or know someone who knows it to find out all the hidden spots... If do go, let me know and i will tell you where to go..

If you were doing island hopping / city holiday (based upon flight costs), i would do something like:

Hong Kong for a 3 nights, maybe pop over to Macau too...
Fly to Manila and then connect to Boracay for 3 or 4 nights (it has far too many tourists, but a lot of my friends still love it).
From Boracay, i would fly to Cebu and travel down to Oslob and go swimming with whale sharks 2 nights (only 2 nights to relax from travelling too).
Travel by boat to Bohol and spend 3 nights - could also go to siquijor on the way for a couple of nights...
From Bohol travel to Manila to fly home from or even back to Hong Kong for a night.

That's not a bad route... this one is easy enough to do, not too expensive, not too long on a bus etc... All depends how adventurous you are...
Actually China southern are pretty good don't get them mixed up with air china ect. although i have only used them for shorter flights within china they have been fantastic every time. good find heat added
