Will no doubt be one of the Replay used refurb ones and most stores have quite a selection of tempting ones.

Sold as NEW. Needs Pre-owned sticker due to stupid Euro law because it left/returned from/to the warehouse. Go figure

great album, fantastic price. heat added
Post Richey albums didn't have that same spark, if he didn't go missing he was planning a metal album believe it or not.
Makes me laugh when a good post like this one that states lots of the replay cds available doesn't go hot (including the cd in this post)
Heat for the best band ever.

I honestly can't remember the last time I played a physical CD.

Brilliant album.
Fantastic album hot from me.
my favourite album at that time. prefer the killers, coldplay and keane nowadays....still hot deal!

You know this for definite do you?

Excess/over stock returned by retailers to suppliers can AFAIK still be sold as new. Indeed, a lot of items Poundland sell (books etc) are genuine overstock that have been returned to some warehouse somewhere after going unsold. Hence the killer prices. I've seen DVDs with Woolworths sleeves, books with Waterstones stickers still on them etc - ALL sold as new NOT preowned. In fact, I've purchased a number of overstock new CDs in Poundland including Franz Ferdinand & The Fratellis. These were not marked preowned either.

Bottomline, these 'replay' CDs are as described - refurbished! Pre-owned goods done up and sold to perform as new. They are not warehouse overstock that has fallen foul of some obscure Euro regulation!
the last properly good album they made

Yes, I did bother to ask for the definition of Pre-Owned and this is what I was told.
if they were second hand, they would have to state Second Hand. it's NOT a charity shop.

I bought 5 cd s from poundland and 2 of them skipped, one badly. Not bad odds for a quid, but still annoying.

But they are pre-owned - I had this argument in another thread, it says so on the packet then 'fully refurbished'

Trading standard laws apply here.

I bought some and they are second hand although they've done a good job of cleaning the CD's, the fingermarked booklets and 'humanity' smell in some of them they cannot fix..
Successful 'Dad Rock' album with a few stand out tracks, but far from their best work. Not bad for a nicker though

Which Law specifically ?! Do you mean The Sale of Goods Act 1979 ?

No Dabs on mine. Do you work in forensics ?

Let's hope it's in Poundland by Christmas.

This is a great deal even for pre-owned. Great album, great band - think I'll buy another for the car.

The goods must be as described. If any description is applied to the goods on packaging, in an advert or verbally by the seller, the goods must match that description. For example, if the colour or size of an item is stated on the packet then goods inside must be of that colour or size.

In Poundlands case the items are described correctly.

I believe they get them from places like musicmagpie etc etc.

Exactly! - they're still a good deal though..

The likes of mynisawn will keep deluding themselves that they're *new* anyways.

Got to agree with Mallinersha here, yes they are a good deal but you have to admit they are used and I think you should state this in the title also as it can be misleading.
When you take into account they are used, nearly all these Poundland albums can be delivered off Amazon for roughly £1.27 like in the link

The distinction here is that that the CDs are sold as REFURBISHED - Hence the name 'Replay'!!!! Pre-owned/secondhand/used CDs given a makeover to freshen them up. New pristine Jewel cases, disc surfaces professionally polished to remove scratches (to eliminate skipping) etc.

Poundland don't hide the fact they are Refurbs, indeed, the promotion clearly identifies them as such. You may be lucky and get a good used one... or as another poster so eloquently put it you may receive something that 'wreaks of humanity'. It's pot luck! What is for sure though is that you won't receive a *new* item that has simply fallen foul of EU regulations.

I guess the moral of the story is don't believe everything you are told by Poundland employees!!!!!

Yes this is evident in the 'ASH Free All Angels' CD that I've seen in some of the Poundland shops, the Jewel case on some of them is missing the Q awards #1 Album big sticker, or some have shabby stickers and some look like new stickers.

Any further replies from mynisawn arguing their case for them being new I will take for trolling.
50p at any car boot any sunday.

often cheaper.
This is by far the worst Manics album. Almost every track is utter ****. Thankfully they realised that, and their work since has gotten better.
Sorry Guys, I was busy listening to my 'NEW' CDs. What were you saying,:{ again!?
Oh Yhe. Poundland to obtain charitable status.
I got better things to do with my Saturday Night, but it's nice to see that I can always find you here.

I believe a lot of this "replay" stock is coming from what is sent off to Music Magpie, which is also turning up in That's entertainment, in the Works & online via Zoverstocks.

Obviously it is tidied up, but still second hand.

Has 'Quality Assured' label! Take it back to the shop if you don't think it's worth loose change.:)

Such arrogance for a new member and can't admit you're wrong. I believe you just got your bottom spanked by me and a few other members here though. X)

You don't deserve the hot votes this thread got for your obvious trolling behaviour.

Ah yes the 'Quality Assured' label - which also states the item is PRE-OWNED

A bit like you and this thread, but without the PRE bit X)
mynisawn

Has 'Quality Assured' label!

Yeah because it's reconditioned. Therefore to give the customer confidence they have not bought a 'coaster' they guarantee its quality (CD is guaranteed to play without skipping). OP is fast running out of rope to hang themselves with.

mynisawn

Take it back to the shop if you don't think it's worth loose change.

I don't think anyone disagrees that it is a good buy for a reconditioned CD. The problem is with the ill-informed, misleading and erroneous statements you are giving on the items condition. Instead of simply accepting you were misled by one of Poundland's underlings and moving on, you continue to bury your head in the sand and blindly insist the items are *new*. They are not! Poundland themselves admit they are not and posters here who have bought these things also confirm they are not... endof!

When I asked originally if you knew for certain that the Replay discs were simply new items that fell foul of Euro regulations I was half expecting you to say you were Poundland management or knew someone who was. Instead we have 2 pages of posts based on the hearsay of Billybob the shelf stacker! It's getting ridiculous.
All i have to say now is that mynisawn has a right aggressive little attitude when replying, hiding it behind some smug emoticon.
Whenever I go to my local poundland I can never find these deals-bit like Tesco's. Nice to know someone is having a bargain, just wish it was me sometimes!!
