Refurbished Toshiba l50-b laptop touchscreen or non touchscreen both same price. Non touch has corei3 processor 8gb + 1tb+dvd drive, the touch has quad core Pentium and 4gb +750gb+dvd drive. Both come with a 12month warranty just the same as Argos on the high street. I received both in as new condition in original box with absolutely no sign they had ever even been out of the box . Great sound and picture quality very fast computer I am still amazed they sell it for £150 cheaper than the high street Argos price. I would recommend it at that price but it is a giveaway at this price

short answer yes, long one you can pre order it via Microsoft

Similar but not duplicate post. Different technical specification e.g processor and hard drive size.

This is the crappies build laptop I've ever had. I couldnt imagine poorest mechanism and materials. You need a screw driver to remove the battery! The screen is with pale and terrible colors, my 10 year old sony got way better screen! Its not a cheap price, the price is for exactly what you get!

I don't think you will find many laptops that have a removable battery now!!!!!! Screen-wise, try and find a laptop that has an IPS screen. IPS screens typically have deep, rich colours and wide viewing angles like a TV. Nearly all tablets have IPS screens whereas you normally have to pay £500+ for a laptop with an IPS screen. However, there are exceptions where you can find one for cheap on here

I have been monitoring these for a couple of weeks now and have not seen an 8GB one for £199.99, only 4GB. It's still a good price for what it is, but I'd like an 8GB one.

feck me there getting cheap and cheap scorching hot

Need laptop for my 11 year old, and was tempted by a used T410 i5 8gb 120SSD for £190 on Ebay or this as he wants a touchscreen, though I am not sure (want him to use to research not play games) any opinions from wiser souls as to which will last well for a three years or so without issue?

Hi All i was wondering if you can advise me on a laptop , all i want to do with a laptop is surf the web and read email , stream sport and films and watch tv shows and play games like skyrim and football manager , so i was wondering what laptop would be the best for me to do this , i know i dont need a i5 or i7 i dont want to be paying over the odds for a laptop or get one that too powerful for what i will be doing on it has it will just go to waste thanks for any help you give me

Every tried removing the battery of a new-ish Apple laptop?

Every tried removing the battery of a new-ish Apple laptop?

What relevance is that?

I really don't 'get' touchscreen on a 15.6" laptop.

1) You use a laptop of that form factor on a desk.
2) The screen size determines viewing distance.
3) You type on the keyboard
4) 1 + 2 + 3 = the screen is not at the optimal distance for touch gestures, ergo you'd do better using mouse/trackpad/nipple.

Seems like a tacked on gimmick.

This isnt an i3, its a Pentium N3530

Anyone got the link for the non-touch one? Can't find anything by Toshiba with 8GB for £200.

Good middle of the road laptop. I would really want a FHD display, but at this price you cannot complain. Touch screen is a bonus - I think it is nice with Windows 8 or 10, but you don't have to use it.

The 8GB i3 one is £249.99 and I don't think it has been cheaper.

I got the i3 version of this Toshiba and it does all of those things with no problems, I have been led to believe the i5 and i7 are for really hardcore gaming and even then they usually don't have the graphics cards built in to make real use of the processor. I spent ages looking into things before I got this one what swung it for me was the sound quality. Hope this is of some help I am sure there are computer boffins who can baffle you with science for an hour though

OP did also say that the non-touch has a core i3 and 8gb of ram whereas the touch has quad core Pentium and 4gb of ram so not really comparable anyway

Haha. The biggest RAM you can get for £199.99 is 6GB with the following Acer which has an AMD A6-6310 processor scoring 2356 points on CPU benchmark:

To more experienced IT guys, if you needed to buy a laptop for you son for general viewing and school work, this be strong enough for a few years against young teenager messing around with it or would this older Dell (Dell Latitude E6410 i5 8GB RAM, 128 SSD)be better -ebay.co.uk/itm…AIT ?

What do you think?

I received that laptop yesterday. It's for my daughter, for her pink/white room and so far no complain. 4 cores cpu 2,16 Ghz with boost up to 2,63GHz.It's very quiet. Wi-Fi only in N standard (compare to dual-band ac in that i3-4005U but not touch screen, which I also get for my mum) and ram is 1333MHz. Touch screen works better than touchpad for me. That surprise because so far I never use touch screen. Overall decent laptop and I got it for £160 with ebay 20% OFF code. Recommend it.

Looks like a perfectly adequate laptop for my kid's homework / surfing / email and youtube

Took a punt on it for my daughter and it got sent back the same day refurbished job was rubbish faulty arm holding screen up on one side and touch pad was faulty what a joke.

did anyone else buy one of these? I got one for hubby and came yesterday but no wifi adaptor showing, argos outlet said they would send a driver but there is no driver to uninstall in first place.
