I have this exact light. I placed it under my desk at work cos it is sooooooo bright other people were complaining from miles away lol. Its actually very good never had to replace any bulbs and when you look at some of the reviews its one of the better ones out there. As for the does it work (mood) question I could not comment cos im still a cantankerous git and want to strangle half of the office but it is supposed to help. I would defo recomend at this price heat added.

Anyone had any experience using one of these? Do they have an notable impact?
I have this light. It's very good and i was impressed by the amount of light it gives out. I don't stare directly at it, I usually when using it, have it next to me if I'm reading or writing or even watching tv for a little while. I would definitely say it's had a positive impact on my mood and wellbeing. It's not an instant reaction but it does help.

Can you buy led version of this ? I would have been interested if these automatically switch ed on and off like a wake up light but I guess if you buy 6000k cool daylight led light bulb instead of 2500k warm light bulbused normally ,it will have same effect as well.

I had a Philips one which was alot more expensive. It worked wonders a good 4 years ago, used it often. Lost it so might pick this up.

Basically if you want to feel the intensity of the sun's brightness in close orbit to your face, this is the lamp for you. I never really used mine as it's such a bright white light it never really feels practical to use.

Not used this one but in my experience they are all a waste of money. Not even close to real sunlight. Even on a cloudy day in spring or autumn I get better results that these waste of spaces.
Should be buying these for their staff
Go outside , save money.

Which ones were these?
10,000 lux? That’s meaningless, unless it means the light level at the surface of the lamp itself. A lumens measure would be much more useful (1 lux being 1 lumen per square meter).
Brilliant. I have one of these and feel rejuvenated after just a few minutes.

The Diamond 4, which is supposed to be way more powerful than this cheap one. It did diddly squat. Also tried the golite with the blue lights. That one was worse than using nothing because I couldn't sleep at all after using it. Also tried the original wooden one, the Apollo. That one did nothing. I tried a few small LED units, one made by Body-tek. It did nothing. I tried SAD visors too. They either did nothing or were worse than nothing by making me lose sleep even when used in the mornings.

What else?

Oh yeah. The lights you stick in your ears were interesting. I forget what they were called but sticking lights in your ears surprisingly did something but it was mostly negative. They made me aggressive and made me sleepless. So they were out.

As you can see, I've tried nearly all types available.

The only thing that has helped me is strong sunlight. SAD lights like these cheap ones always fail because of two reasons. Firstly, 10,000 lux is not strong enough. It may just be me but I need 15,000 at least just to notice anything. Secondly, the lights should fall on the whole of your retina, not just a portion of it. So that means the lights have to be huge. That's why I get benefit from a cloudy sky because the sky is huge in comparison to these small sad lights. But maybe you are different. I have proper SAD and not a little bit of winter blues like most people do. So that may be why they don't work on me. Waste of money for me, but not voting on the deal as they may help someone with a bit of winter blues.

Actually, I've changed my mind. Even if you actually benefit from this kind of therapy this is still going to be next to useless as you have to sit 15cm away from it to get 10,000 lux. The Diamond 4 I mentioned earlier is much better as it gives 10,000 lux at 51cm.
