The total price would be £4.99 then, should really include that in title otherwise people feel mislead and some will vote cold for missing details, even if info is in description it doesnt match the title of the post so would be considered inaccurate.

Also you have added "EBay discount code" as a search tag yet I'm not seeing any mention of codes on the page or in the details you have added, other's may consider that click-bait/misleading and vote cold. I've not voted yet, going to read the ebay page for information to see if this is something I need or if I'm just thinking "hey maybe I can use that and it's so cheap I should probably buy it" I own too many of those products already lol

The Ebay page doesn't give any product information, I did find the product on Maplin:

maplin.co.uk/p/m…6lw

On their site it's only reduced from £3.99 to 1.99, very strange it's listed on their ebay as a reduction form £19.99, according to reviews on their page though it's very hard to find out if it's compatible with devices or not, from what I can see trial and error my be the best if not only realistic option based on user reviews. I'm still not entirely sure what this actually does/how it works at this point.

you need to plug a 3g usb Dongle (containing a sim) into it the device then becomes a wireless Hotspot or connect to it via a cable.

Ahhh so it was never £19.99. that's sneaky by putting RRP in the eBay link.

When it was only ever £3.99 direct, brand new.

I read some reviews and it did used to be £20 so they obviously reduced it to 3.99 and now 1.99

Why not just plug the 3g usb dongle into your computers usb port.

Why not just plug the 3g usb dongle into your computers usb port.

because only thay computer would be able to use it. this is a wireless Hotspot so multiple machines can connect to it at the same time.

There are some really fun people on this site aren’t there.

Any reason why this wouldn't work with a 4g dongle?

To avoid all the complication, I've just re-purposed a spare phone that has user replaceable batteries to work as a hotspot
