I've seen better sale off companies that aren't shutting down lol Maplin shows why it's shutting down - rip off prices.
A lot of business experts on here today. Most haven't a clue what they are going on about.

Most of it’s still cheaper elsewhere unfortunately.
I was in there on Monday and there was loads at 30% off too.

Don' buy anything online, click and collect paying cash when you do.
Great find op keep up the good work.....
There are some good discounts but you have to hunt for them. The BT Whole Home WiFi is cheaper than he Amazon deal posted yeaterday, the Deco home WiFi is also cheaper

Surely you're better off paying with credit card than cash, as you've got some cover from the cc company?
and with 20% off prices they're just about as expensive as everywhere else.

I wonder why they're going out of business...

Philips Hue stuff is now cheaper than Amazon. Think I'll hang on for 30% discount. If I'm around our local store I'll check out off line prices..

Only if it's over £100
20% reduced at Maplin, still means 20% more than most shops. Freezing cold! I really believe that some companies still live in pre-internet era, and don't know about the power of social media, forums and internet groups. Entire businesses can be brought down anytime, if people want today, only through social media alone.

By the time it is discounted enough to be reasonable there will only be the odd crap thing and the staff left in store. Halfords next. Never anyone in mine. Except me. Must be mental or something.

Halfords, Currys/PCWorld, Argos, JohnLewis, Ryman. All these ripping people off. I can't remember last time I found something worth buying from them.

John Lewis serve a purpose.
They are fantastic for price matching TVs and adding their excellent five year warranty.

Argos only use for convenience, JohnLewis are expensive, Ryman never shopped in there, Currys rip off and Halfords I didn't think were too bad. Too many rip off business and wonder why they are going down the pan and blame Brexit when its just shit management.

Yes that's the limit for section 75. My credit card company has always honoured claims below this though, and there's also charge back.
I just ordered a Ryzen 7 1700x for £195 delivered. Nearly £50 cheaper than Amazon. Also a Corsair 100R case for £12 cheaper than Amazon. Heat.
I got the pacman lamp for 30% off in-store on Monday..
No they are not - some store some items 10% still

Always makes me laugh when people say JL is expensive. They sell premium products at prices the same or less than most other places. Add to that a free extended warranty on electricals and great customer service.
Just so long as you don't mind losing your money when their cheap (and incredibly overpriced) tat breaks down, fails or mysteriously stops working the day after they finally go bust.
No customer protection, refunds or warranty returns then!

Was looking at these:

maplin.co.uk/p/l…9yc

But they are £55.99 on Amazon.

A lot of Maplin stock is branded and will be covered by the manufacturer. There are bargains to be had. Must have been at least 6 items from Maplin's posted on here separately. It's only a bargain if it's some thing you need!

JL is great. Looking recently , they beat Amazon easily for range, price and warranty. Im not saying always but it foolish not to look. I agree with alot of normal retail its a waste of time unless your local is very helpful.
JL is not strictly speaking a profit making firm, its a cooperative ownership. Decide for yourself but I agree with the opinion they are useful to check out.

Maplin at some point represented something different or special and lost that focus I guess
