Just spotted retro edition Snickers bars back to what a lot of us have always known them as “Marathon.” I did a double take when I saw them. They also have retro edition Mars Bars. £1 for a pack of 4, exclusive to Morrisons but only for 12 weeks.

It’s basically a snickers bar in a wrapper that says marathon

Nah, they're Marathon bars in their proper packaging :-)
Never liked them but it’s 29 years since they changed names, July 19th 1990, where did all the time go, just need to bring back Texan Bars those were the best ones.

you must be a youngster yourself. I was in my twenites!
I must have had a premonition, I called Snickers Marathon by mistake a few nights ago! Cool, though
Marathons were wrapped in that sort-of greaseproof paper you never see used with chocolate bars any more. Wonder if they'll use the same packaging?
Is it safe?

Ah yes, wax paper. I think these are just typical plastic wrappers unfortunately. I didn’t buy any as I’m still working my way through a pack of white chocolate ones

Yes, but a nice gimmick I certainly don’t feel like it

Absolutely but I wouldn’t pay any more for it.

I think my family continuing to call them Marathon is how it’s stayed with me. I still call Starburst Opal Fruits too.

Grandma still calls Scope the Spastics Society, but I think that's for different reasons

They did, briefly bring back Texans at the end of the 90's/early 00's - they were smaller than I remembered, and more hazardous for my teeth.

edit: Just googled it - apparently it was 2005. Seemed longer ago than that.

I demand they bring back the coconut Revel.

I didn’t know there was a coconut revel. I just read they replaced them with the horrid coffee one.

Yup, which makes their decision even harder to swallow as coffee flavoured chocolate is grossssss.

I’d rather they stopped pandering to minority and ditch the raisin replacement and bring back the peanut
anyone remember aztec bars?
Well if anything's going to take our minds off the far right coup going on in this country right now, it's this.

Anyone remember Cadbury's Clusters?

A relatively new product which was dis-continued a few years ago.

Anyone know why they were canned? They were tasty.

I remember those. Found these recently.
The 'Racer' bars that you can buy in Aldi for 59p are very similar to Marathon/Snickers bars and far far cheaper.
I have seen online that these Marathon Bars are back in the UK but only on sale at Morrisons supermarkets.
Some people may not see this as a deal but it's still nice to see a 4 pack of Marathon back on the shelf......in date too ;).

Get them quick though as they are only branded "Marathon" for 3 months the "Mars" brand has said...

what size were they in the 80s?

Bigger than the multipack now but still taste the same as snickers. Just the packaging has been renamed
