This bike was posted over a year ago for £500 but has been heavily reduced so I'm just giving a heads up to anyone who's in the market for a good quality road bike.

I bought this at £500 and after a year of riding it, I still love it. I've since upgraded some parts but the frame has been solid and I have had numerous comments on how good the bike looks aesthetically.

It has a composite fork, Shimano Tiagra front / rear derailleur and STI shifters. The chainset is FSA and has Tektro brakes. All in all decent quality components for a bike at this price.

Just to add, the bike was not fully assembled when I received it. Brake cables were not fully fitted/cut down and the gearing needed indexing. So you may need someone in the know to do this if you don't feel confident in doing it yourself.

Check out the full spec on the link :-)

Hope this helps someone.

I can't add an image for some reason, could a mod add one please? TIA

Check the warranty before self assembling, a lot of warranties dont cover you if it's self assembled

Nice budget bike. But still a touch too pricy to be hot imo.
They've skimped on the FSA crankset and the Tektro brakes (which imo are awful)

good deal. nothing wrong with the crankset but the Bottom brackets do not last and are pricier than shimano hollowtechs.

From my experience, Triton were great with any queries and the assembly, I was told, didn't affect warranty. I agree with you MAdam98 wrt the Tektro brakes but it depends what you're using them for. As a commuter they'll be fine but if you're looking at longer rides then I'd certainly upgrade as they aren't powerful enough even when changing pads, I upgraded to Ultegra as I got them cheap.
The FSA crank has been bang on to be fair. The BB too. No issues and I clean and lube after each ride to maintain it runs smoothly which has helped. Can't see a bike as good as this, other than a Giant Defy when on sale, for sub £400.

decent bike for the price. not sure I believe the non discounted rrp of £1000 but you would struggle to find better.

Not dissimilar spec to the Boardman Team of a couple of years ago with an rrp of £1000 which is only really better by a couple of 105 mechs. Taking inflation into account it's fair.

60% off a 2015 model from a quality manufacturer with Tiagra gearset that costs only 400 quid? No pleasing some people!

The Tektro brakes are unremarkable if anything, awful is an exaggeration.

Nice bikes, worth the money, not sure there is anything close at the moment.

Cheers OP. Been considering a new bike at around this price and although never worth the original £1000 price, at £400 it looks a bit of a bargain so ordered and now awaiting delivery.

No worries mate, it really is a great bike, really smart. I'm surprised this hasn't gone hotter but glad someone got a good deal

Took delivery Thurday, finished building it (only took half an hour) and rode it to work Friday morning. I'm very pleased with it so far. Needs some minor adjustments to the gears but its a step up from my trusty Carrera TDF

what bike size would you go for if your 5'9

I'm 6 foot to 6'1 and ride the 55.5 so Geordie is spot on with his suggestion of 52.5

Looks like a good deal, I was about to post it myself until I saw this thread. £400 for this spec is good value imho. The 52.5cm size is now out of stock.
