Marin Rock Spring 2 29 Hardtail Bike
Designed to help you to dominate challenging XC trails, the Rock Spring 2 is a 29er that will inspire confidence in every ride. Built around a butted aluminium frame, it comes equipped with RockShox TK Silver forks and powerful Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. This means you’ll always be in control on roughest terrain and be able to “drop the anchor” when you need to scrub your speed.

Highly Capable XC 29er MTB

Backing up this outstanding handing and braking control, is a highly efficient drivetrain and wheel package. This includes Shimano’s Deore 1x10 Drivetrain with a wide range 11-46T cassette and Marin’s strong double walled rims and grippy Schwalbe Tough Tom tyres. The result of this is that this XC hardtail brings you slick shifting to get you up to speed and up the steepest climbs and the control and grip you need to dominate the trail.

Why cold? Looks like a decent spec for the money.

I've seen reviews where halfords bikes like Voodoo and Boardman have beaten Marin bikes in performance at considerably lower prices. There are no Marin factories they are basically importing bikes from the far east just like Halfords and they have to add a huge number of costs that Halfords don't have because they simply import themselves and sell directly in their stores. I've seen the Marin Bolinas Ridge 1 with very low end parts that sells for close to £400 in bike shops, that only scrapes in as a real mountain bike. As ever look at what you are getting in component terms for your £.
Anyone know where I can get any Marin handlebar grips from please I've looked around but can't find any cheers

I ment in real term usage. The spec on the marin is much better than any voodo, and can't compare the boardman as there a lot dearer than the marin.
Tbf all will fall apart if used as a "mountain bike" but fine for the trips to bedgebury ect

The Voodoo Bizango (quite often cheaper than this e.g. last month with 20% off was £520) has a 1x11 SRAM NX groupset and the Suntour Raidon Fork. Component wise they stand up pretty well to the 1x10 Deore and the entry level rock shox silver TX here.

There are some good reasons why that Voodoo has won several awards during its iterations and is hard to fault on its value.

Last year they had 20% off all bikes plus another £50 off all voodoos and boardmans and then when picked up showed BC membership for an extra 10% off and because it wasn't ready on day knocked £20 off you can still get them 20% as Halfords has deals time and time again so £530 plus many people have BC membership so £470 it's better vaule
