Great game this

I'm hoping my lad will enjoy it as he loved the old Mario Galaxies on the Wii. So many games to choose between though so got any other suggestions?

This is a strategy game, so you take turns battling each other. The Galaxy games are like a platform game, if he likes those style of games go for Mario Odyssey. Luigis Mansion is also very good. Super Mario maker 2 allows you to make your own levels, with an online subscription you can play what others have made as well. How old is he?
He's 14. I'll certainly take a look at Odyssey and the Mansion one. Thanks 😁

I second mario odysee (imo the best game on the switch ) although if you have a switch you've probably already played it .
Personaly I thought this game was a bit rubbish and would recommend nearly every other turn based strategy game over it (both xcoms , mutant year zero ) . I don't think liking the 3d Mario's (which are all amazing) is going to mean you like this
Got it on amazon for same price

WOW WOW WOW!

No mention of the best strategy game on the system(SRPG admittedly) with Fire Emblem: Three Houses, crazy.

Not to mention Disgaea 1,5 & 4 being on it too(while these are not the most accessible i grant you, they are undoubtedly very good) also Valkyria Chronicles 1 & 4.

Wargroove is another belter of a game for it too with other games of the strategy ilk existing on the system(I drift to SRPG's myself what with it being my favourite genre).

This game while decent and fun, I felt was only ever a stop gap game, not one you were super invested in so wouldn't be driven to play, an that is it's biggest problem.

Haven't played any but one of the GC fire emblem games and didn't really like it (personaly I think that type of game works better with guns rather than melle) . It also had an insulting long tutorial that assumed I couldn't count to 5.
Disgae 5 I found an unbelievable grind and a bit rubbish .Valkyria C 1 was amazing but haven't played the most recent one
