Whilst this is undoubtedly a good price I would urge you all to consider buying the physical copy for a few pounds more since at least that retains some value whereas this is little more than acquiring a licence. I’d never buy a premium Nintendo game as digital only unless the price was really low.

The counter to that argument is that physical copies are a pain, you have to carry them with you and swap when you want to play and they can get broken/lost.

This is especially true when buying for children.

I was a physical copy advocate but I have fully converted, even on my Xbox. Who wants to be swapping out discs? And when do I actually sell my old games? Never is the answer.

Digital all the way for us.

I say the opposite, MK8 is one of those games you'll never sell as its great to go back and dip into now and again.

Excellent price! I bought this digitally not long after launch. It’s a great game to just have to hand and I’ve got hours out of it

Only a valid excuse if you intend to later sell on. I still own all mario karts from 1 to 8 and have no intention to sell them

Great price thanks, another one from my wishlist
Don't forget a potential 2% quidco
It’s a good price in the current market, but this is a fairly old game now (and an even older port of a wii u game).
Should be much cheaper in my opinion, but the same could be said for Zelda and Mario odyssey.
Switch?

Switch by name, switch by nature.

Takes 10 seconds to change a disc... so lazy it’s unreal

Don't forget the plastic that is used and the environmental impact of creating physical copies.

We should, as an industry, be encouraging them to create digital only versions to reduce carbon emissions.

In my opinion, yes, the best Mario game on Switch is Odyssey, it's absolutely fantastic.
Just my luck. I picked up Smash, Pokemon and extended my Ultimate sub for 4 months. No chance that I'll get away with this one too!

I went with Odyssey but also got Mario Kart as it’s probably the game the family will most play.

Lol. They would jump at the chance but some people still understand the value of physical copies even if it appears that several don’t.

I never sell old consoles, but if I did the console would now be worth more if it came with digital games.
Heat. £4 cheaper than cheapest physical version. Brought thanks

It wouldn't really though, as the games are tied to the account not the console.
Still, great price here for the game
