Mario Kart 8 limited edition with blue shell figurine on sale for £44.99 at Smyths Toys Coventry. They had one on display, two behind the counter and the assistant said two more were out the back. Hopefully the same price in other Smyths Toys stores.

stock also in Kidderminster.

Hot, but if you were such a fan of the series that you wanted this blue shell, wouldn't you have bought it already?

Although thinking about it, if you'd already bought the game previously - you could get this, and have the shell, another of the free games with the mk8 offer, and be able to flog this second mk8 on eBay and not be too far out of pocket. Hmmm tempted.

You can get £29 cash/£32 voucher from CeX for just the game if you wanted to do that. Alternatively if you just wanted to use the download code, they'll give you £42 cash/£46 voucher for the limited edition.

Good price buts it's going to be discontinued next year if the rumour mill is anything to go by, it's actually a decent console and very fun to play (some games), but having said that it has been a catastrophic failure.

I've not heard that rumour at all, apart from randoms' wishful thinking on forums etc! Nintendo have quite a lot of stuff alreadya announced for next year (Yoshi, Splatoon, Star Fox, the gamepad demo games, Kirby, Zelda...) so it won't be discontinued next year.

Who knows after that. I'd think four years would have to be the minimum and even that's a kick in the balls for owners, even as a huge Nintendo fan I'd be wary in the future.

I hope your right, it's a good bit of kit for what it is but at the price they are being sold at Nintendo must be making a loss on them and hoping the games bring them back up above the line. I haven't had anything Nintendo since the SNES, it's a shame they have fallen so far behind but look at Microsoft it takes very little to knock you off the top.

Just got myself the standard version from Zavvi online for £29.98, unfortunately I couldn't post due to the retailer being banned on HUKD.
