All well and good if you have a ASDA near by.
I wish we did then the petrol/diesel may come down in price.

No they aren't ALWAYS £1 in Asda unless they're on an offer (which they are at the moment as well). They're normally £1.87 there - I know because I buy them from there as well. Its usually the cheap white potatoes which are £1. So Tesco are actually selling them 7p cheaper for a change.

Great price.

I used to think potatoes were just potatoes, but I was very wrong. I only use 'other' kinds for jacket potatoes now. Anything else is sacrilege.

I pay £1.90 from morrisons even if they were a £1 I still would'nt buy them from Asda as there poor quality.

Hot price but using anything other than Sainsburys TTD vivaldi white potatoes is a let down for me now, it makes the best mash! I'll buy marie piper if we're having a skint week but otherwise it's vivaldi all the way for us

These make the best chips, just like the chippie (because 99.9% this is the variety they use),

Golden and fluffy inside.

so true

Cold for me. Local farm 5 minutes away (oooh think of the carbon footprint I'm saving) £5 for 25Kg and choice of Maris Piper (white-great for chips and roasting) and Stemster (red-best mash ever) but would buy Marfona (white) if push came to shove for mash.

99.9% is a slight exaggeration. Chip shops use what is available that is frying and good value. And while piper is often a first choice, king edward, desiree and a lot more varieties are used.

I guees youve realised by now that i hate tescos lol
Pete

£1.87 in Tescos for 2.5Kg???

Looks like we're being ripped off here in NI big time! Only recently have they been selling some Wilsons local ones [Maris Piper] for £1.99 - which are currently on offer at 99p....These are 'dirty' and not washed like usual, but marked as 'new season'. I think their normal supply is Isreal grown ones.

'Normal' price here is something like £2.58 or thereabouts and always has been for yonks! Oh, and Sainsburys are around the same price here too............
