What's up with spuds this year?

Maris Pipers seem great for everything and Roosters have become pants ..... red Roosters used to be brilliant winter potatoes

How many will turn up thinking it's a misprint I wonder?!!

I wonder, is this the most expensive item Home Bargains has ever stocked?

Maris are mainly used for chipping. So if you want chips as good as your local chippy, these are the ones to go for. Most growers have had a problem with blight; these are sold off to budget suppliers such as Iceland, Aldi etc. If you have sellers on the side of the road near shopping outlets (we have two near the group of shops by Tesco), these are almost always blight pots. Not a big deal if peeling as they only require an extra slice taken off but a problem if using for baking.

Blight is a real disease?! I thought it was some futuristic problem on Interstellar! X)

Does anyone realise the low return potato farmers are getting this year???? £30 per ton which is approx. 3.2p per kg. They will all be out of business next year as it costs more than double this to grow them!
