Negative. Worth less than £35. Unless you are looking for their brand name

Works out at £1.40 per item and the majority, if not all are worth more than that. I bought last years one and it was well worth the money. Better value than this years Lego calenders anyway!

Was some pretty nice stuff in the one last year

If you add all the samples together you almost get a full size product!

Oh you can buy it, for £250. At that price, i would probably agree with her.

Last year I lost out on the No.7 Boots one (they lost my order) so I bought this and missus was very pleased with the contents.

I can't exactly remember what else I bought for £35, but promptly returned said items as soon as I collected it, saying I'd changed my mind. That works btw, you don't have to keep the other £35 spend items.

edit - remembered it was 'Evercalm' gift set at £35 exactly, small and easily returned!

Last year if you purchased something that was half price eg £17.50 it still worked to get the advent calendar for £35.
It was decent last year - sold anything I didn’t use on eBay and made my money back.

This is what happens when one only half listens. Checked with Lizzie my pal and she’s ordered it, not yet bought it, but has gone through the list of items included in it and they’re apparently not as good as last year. Speaking of which, I was lucky enough to get an extralast years one for half price at my local small M&S as theyd had an overstock/too many delivered. I too bought stuff and returned it but my understanding is they don’t take back beauty items/cosmetics so probably best to buy an item of clothing if you’re thinking of doing that.

Perhaps that what she meant! I’m not going to bother checking to be fair. All I am saying is, it seems not to be as good value as last year

Ah right, I though I was missing something :-) Its a shame that it doesn't look as good value as last years was brilliant ! Maybe I will have to have a think about ordering this year.

If you are near a smaller store keep,a lookout for reduced price ones late in December. Though they may have learned from last year and not produced as many. I know that each time I went in the larger stores, there were mountains of them and the poor staff were really trying to sell, sell, sell them!

I bought this for my daughter last year or 25 products were almost, if not full-size and I agree from reading the description and the sizes that this year's does not seem as good as last year's

is it possible to buy the advent calendar with an 35£ additional item and then bring the item back to get a refund? So you only pay for the calendar?

Go go go! It's up now!

Really? I had an incredibly hard time trying to find one last year. Hmm.

You can add it to your basket if you spend 35 but also on 3 for 2 (so you only have to spend 24)

Just noticed that in my Sparks offers there is a 50% off a Ragdale Hall Spa Bag which reduces the price from £40 to £20. I added this to my basket and it allows the Advent Calendar to be bought for £35, whilst spending £20 rather than the £35 minimum.

Might work for some.

All the words in your post apart from the first one were superfluous. Looks like you just want to be negative for no reason. Perhaps you'd like to share how you have calcualted the 'worth' of these items?

I still have one of last years, unopened.

What to do, to do, to do ....

Last years ended up costing a lot. The missus took a shine to a couple of the products and bought full size versions for £60. Emma Harding amazing face which works like water and removes makeup was one of them. Hot but I'm avoiding as don't want to get stung again

I bought last years for my wife, and she loved it! Lots of similar stuff though.

I think it was pure luck and location.Edinburgh Princes Street had loads, think they thought the tourists would snap them up.

I second this , the girlfriend was highly impressed so much so that now I think this is going to be a yearly tradition

It's just in his nature. Don't even look at his comments about mobile phones.

No offence but it really isn't better value, nowhere near !

Well I just ordered my one, using the 3 for 2 offer to bump up the price (on items needed anyway)!

But for those pondering - I'm making up a personal beauty advent calendar for my daughter and I cannot find really nice items anywhere near the £1.40 price that these items average out at. Mini/sample sizes can cost up to £11 for a tube/pot of product.
Plus any unwanted things can easily be sold on ebay or simply given away as little gifts

I for one have been delighted with this deal
So, thanks OP, a big fat Christmassy HOT from me!

How would you get stung? Can’t she just buy it for herself?

I treated myself to last years calendar and absolutely loved it. In fact, some of the items are still going now 12 months on! Excellent value for money. In fact I have gone on to buy a few full size products after using them. M & S Formula Sleep cream is fab! Alpha - H Rose Gold is gorgeous too.

I used the 3 for 2 and got myself some decorations that I needed anyway and have ordered this years calendar. It actually works with the full price of the items before the 3 for 2 discount is applied so I am guessing you could add sale items and get one the original price is over £35?

The items are well worth £35!

Just picked one up - I think it's great value.

I've been eyeing up a pair of new shoes for work anyway, and was waiting for this to launch - then got a sparks offer for 20% off shoes, so exta bonus! Loved last years, and there are a couple of products in this I buy regularly at full price anyway, so it's more than worth it for me.

The contents are all listed, so if they don't suit you, don't buy it. For those people they do suit, it is very good value.

DH got me one last year, I kept the calendar and made my own beauty advent for this year with natural and organic items bought by DH, as last year I only kept the glass Nail file as allergic to the rest and donated the rest to my sister in law.

Four of the items included are full size and combined cost over £35.

One doesn't listen to words that are written, they read them and the words that were written said exactly this...Haven’t seen this yet myself but friend who has bought it says it’s not as good value as last year. So, you did write that she had bought it, not ordered it . What you meant is not what you wrote i am afraid.

No. My friend ‘told’ me in conversation that she’d ‘got’ it. I wrote what I thought she meant . Incidentally, if you are going to correct someone’s grammar, you really should check your own. If you start off saying ‘one’ you should not then change to ‘they’

Eyed this up last year but didn't get. Ordered this morning with Christmas presents I needed. Heat added

any recommendations of what to buy for the £35 spend ?

You can buy anything in store for £35 and then return said items so you only pay £35 for calendar
