what's the difference between compote and diluted jam?

Voted hot but this should be the price of them all the time! Marks & Spencers and other supermarkets rip off their customers with their prices big time! Personally I was disgusted to see the amount of waste (Food 2 Go) in my local store when they closed early on new yers eve! Perfectly edible sandwiches, porridge, sushi & other items all going in the BIN! People are starving for god sakes! It irritates me so much!

I used to work there they used to sell stuff off to staff at pennies each to encourage it to be used, but don't think they do that anymore. the reason they bin it then pour blue dye over it is as they have to dispose of it so it's in eatable as people were raiding bins then getting 'sick' from eating out of date food and I suppose taking legal action.

Marks & Spencer are now part of a national program called 'Neighborly' which combats food waste. You may have seen it on tv recently called the War on waste.
I volunteer at a local Food bank and we are so thankful to M&S for supplying us with their excess food. We would not be able to operate without their support.
All food stores are guilty for waste however it is only due to us the customers expecting the stores to have what we want when we want that we are now in this position.
We all need to change the way we live & shop.

Was £2.50??? Is that for real? £1 is still very expensive for a bit of porridge but for the convenience it's just about worth it. £2.50, jokers - cheaper to have it in Nero or Costa so that's saying something!

That's what I thought... a quid is alright if you want a pre - made one, but £2.50 is mental.
