Shame our local M&S has closed down:(

There is upside though, the World's oceans might have less M&S plastic, 6 for £10 offers like this only exacerbate the problem, M&S profiteering, completely ignoring the fact their plastic waste ultimately ends up dumped in Vietnam/SE Asia. Thankfully, these countries are now saying no, and sending it back to us, and we need to return it to M&S when it gets here.

If it’s any 6 of those, looks terrific M&S value to me. 🏼
Can they be frozen?

Let's assume they had it back. M&S would likely put it in the black bin. Which would then go to landfill. And if they actually recycled the recyclable bits, as you suggest a bulk of it may end up being shipped to China etc.

So by returning the plastic to M&S, it would only move the problem elsewhere, it doesn't eliminate the plastic.

Manufacturers will continue to produce plastic until it's illegal to do so. The government isn't going to ban plastic, the world isn't going to ban plastic. Landfills will continue to grow. Populations will continue to increase. Islands of floating plastic will continue to expand. Food will continue to become more scarce. Animals will continue to go extinct. We're all going to starve.

Thanos was right.

Buying a chilled pizza from Lidl, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Aldi or any other supermarket still means in comes wrapped in plastic to keep it hygienically sealed and fresh until you are ready to cook it. M&S closing down won't change anything. Also a significant amount of products are already using the minimum amount of plastic packaging they can. If you don't like pre-prepared foods, don't buy them.

They arent the actual posh dogs they are precooked mini cocktail sausages. Ther posh dogs are in the 3 for £10 deal they always have though
What's the maximum true saving here?
So you could get 6 pizzas for a tenna ?

I would guess the most expensive items are around £3-£3.50 each, so a saving of £8 does seem about right.

Exactly the pizzas are only priced at 2.20 on the shelf from what I was told by my other half

There are salad items, crudites, olives included. I think that more vegetable items and fruit could have been included

The other items are ok, if eaten in moderation

Slow death though with this stuff. On the day an interesting report came out on 'ultra' processed food, which most of this is.

Or make your own. Pizza dough is easy and cheap to make and freeze. My homemade pizzas taste way better than anything I've ever bought from a supermarket.

Cdudites are also a rip odf. If you have a knife at home you can make your own. I assume most people have a sharp knife for chopping vegetables.

lol sure stick to making own pizza and tell everyone you do.
because people who buy this deal, only eat junk lol

oh and don't forget to add a bit of oil with your carrot, otherwise it doesn't digest and no nutrients are absorbed

Literally the last line of my post was if you don't like pre-pared foods, don't buy them. If you are happy making your own stuff then there is no need to even look at these deals.
It's not ultra-processed foods and plastic that will kill us, it's the high blood pressure resulting from reading some of these posts

Checked and my blood pressure is fine. Do people really get high BP reading comments they don't like? I just ignore them, I have more important things in life to push up BP.

Well, we all are, aren’t we? One deal isn’t going to take years off my life is it.

I do agree with you though, that’s the annoying thing. I’m a regular exerciser, boxing, running, and I run similar sessions in school as part of my job, I do have the odd pizza etc, but I also have two young children (sub 4), and we all eat together so *most* of my meals are pretty healthy. My issue Is that I get fed up with seeing people stick replies up that are trying to take the moral high ground, especially when it comes to food. You don’t need to post here if you don’t like it do you? Do you stand in the supermarket and tell people the same when they come past with stuff in the trolleys? I would guess not; so why do it here?
