Looks good value!

Thanks

I've added an image to your post, for help with images please checkout the links in my signature, thanks.

Comes in at £99.33 including delivery but still very good value. I've queried the delivery charge with M&S as their homepage states that this order involves free delivery. If the delivery charge is removed then the price will be even less than £99 as M&S price with 17.5% VAT and then discount to 15% at the checkout.

Good price, though its only a few quid more on Amazon: amazon.co.uk/Phi…DV8 - anyone got one? Has it got decent speed, heard some BDs take ages to load on certain players?

Seems to get a good review ]here. The review claims 33 seconds to load up SpiderMan 3 - which it says is good. I don't have a blu-ray so wouldn't know what's fast and what isn't.

M&S have now taken off the delivery charge so the final price is now £95.83, the guarantee has been confirmed as 5 years too. In addition I was able to use a M&S Premium Club code to have 500 bonus points (£5 equivalent) credited to my account:w00t:

Interestingly the deck can also play hi-def WMV files but with limited success - we got a gorgeous hi-def picture but no sound, and with certain files playback is very jerky.

d'oh didn't see that link answers all my questions was hoping to get shot of xbox media player and dvd player and replace with this for a cheap price but guess not then

Thanks Mike, yes seems decent for a budget BD player, PS3 is a bit quicker I think but yes some discs do take around that time. Cheers.

No surround sound analogue as usual, the bane of budget Blu-ray :-(

How did you get the delivery charge removed can I ask, have reached the order confirmation screen, and total still shows as £99.33 for me.

The player is NOT a 5 year guarantee - it is 2 years.

The Television IS a 5 year guarantee.

Both are "Deals of The Day". 2 years is still a very good deal.

ONLY the TV is free delivery (or the TV/Player package) - not the player on its own - so you have done well to get delivery refunded.

Delivery charge is removed as VAT , aso £4.19 Quidco tracking for me, at the mo, That delivery charge makes all the difference!
To make the DVD side, (not the Blu Ray), region free -- Press HOME on remote --- TYPE 1389310, (on remote) --- Switch off, wait ten sec's and switch on. Should be region free for DVD's, (not Blu Ray's)

Should just be able to put a divx film on a stick and it should be ok if it plays divx and have a usb port, never heard of one that has a usb port and plays divx and will not work.

Nice find thanks. Neglected quidco but worked out about the same probably - had issues with the checkout so rang them up and ordered over the phone and they took off the delivery charge. Worked out at £96.89 plus I was given a £25 gift card recently so applied that!

£71.89 all in! :):):)

Poor that it supports all the mp4, divx formats but you have to burn them onto a disk and can't use the usb slot!

Not true I'm afraid. The usb is there purely for BD-Live storage. Blu-Ray players can connect to the internet and download bits and bobs, the USB port on this particular model is purely for that purpose.

A firmware update in future COULD sort that out but I wouldn't bank on it. By all accounts though from the reviews I've read other than this feature it's a sound little player.

There's another post on here saying Asda are doing this for £97 if you have one nearby.

Yep, according to reviews it won't decode DTS-HD MA and USB is for BD-Live storage only. Also been said that some slight judder was noticed on camera pans on some films. Picture quality is good, fast operation, good menus/gui and remote and can be made multiregion for DVD nice and easily.

This is a no brainer for me as it's only for the bedroom and will be hooked up to a 40" Sony LCD so I won't be using the lossless audio formats (got a Denon amp and bluray player downstairs hooked up to a 50" Panny V10). I'm also not fussed about BD-Live or additional file formats as I have all this covered by other devices and I'm not likely to notice the judder in bed from about 16 feet away! As I say, better kit downstairs for properly watching movies, this is just for general movie watching to complement Sky HD in the bedroom.

Couldn't say no for £70 with gift card.
