I want this!... I don’t need it, but I want it. This site keeps me skint
Why have they called IPX2 = waterproof? That’s basically not waterproof at all!

Where do you get it from as I see only this:

"The road is full of surprises. That's why Tufton was designed to resist water. It is classified IPX2, which means that it is able to support a little water."

Or

Water Resistant Design Ipx2 - Tufton is classified IPX2, that is to say that it is able to withstand a little water

"Durable and Roadworthy Design - Tufton has an IPX2 water-resistant rating and flush mounted corner caps making it an extremely rugged and durable speaker". IPX2 isn't water-resistant or durable at all - that's basically no water resistance beyond a very light drizzle. I meant water-resistance not waterproof even though it's used interchangeably.

"The technical definition of water resistant is that it's able to resist the penetration of water to a certain degree, but not entirely."

"Waterproof technically means that it's impermeable to water, no matter how much time it spends in water."

"IPX2: Can resist water that hits the product at a 15° angle or less."

That's why the call it water resistant

But yeah Im getting your point

My point is, I don't even know why they mentioned it. I mean a piece of greaseproof paper is probably IPX2 standard as well. As to waterproof and water-resistant, this has been discussed here many times before and the terms are virtually interchangeable as nothing is truly waterproof but phones are always marketed like that. It's just an odd 'feature' for them to list.
