After the death of Pebble I wanted a cheap replacement smartwatch. This should do the job.
Not sure on the £99.99 RRP. Going rate on eBay is £40+.

The Martian Notifier is an attractive, colourful analogue wristwatch with an integrated OLED readout that acts as a hands-free gateway to the world, keeping you well informed while your phone remains in a pocket, purse or backpack. This unique smartwatch gives you the ability to receive real-time alerts and notifications on your wrist. Used in conjunction with the free Martian Notifier App, you will automatically receive notifications - including Caller ID, texts, Facebook, Twitter, Weather, Email, Calendar, Instagram, Pinterest, favourite games, bank alerts, fitness stats, and any other alert your device allows. You can also initiate voice commands on your smartphone's speakerphone for uses such as "read text" while you're on the move.

Even the Apple smart watch sales have gone off a cliff; wait 6 months and you will be able to buy any of these brands at the 99p shop as a BOGOF.

until then.. good deal

OMG i didn't know they went bust, I have a new Pebble classic sitting in the cupboard for xmas for my son. I paid £41 new but now wondering if I should return to Tesco or take a chance and keep it. GUTTED. I would get him the Sony smart watch 3 like mine but not sure how good it is on ios.

They didn't go bust they were bought out by fitbit who instantly closed them down

I would think it will be ok for anther couple of years but personally I wold take it back. My Pebble is going to CeX on Monday while it still has value.

good price considering CEX buy for £19 and sell for £42

still - I will stick with my Alcatel onetouch watch

Buy a cheap Fitness band, .sales have rocketed... Where Smart-watches (like Apple) have been very very poor ...

Anyone know what the range is like on these? My wife has to leave her phone in a locker at work so thought this would be good to still be able to read texts etc, but not if it's only short range. Thanks.

Looked at these before buying a Pebble Time Steel Kickstarter edition (which I don't regret, long battery life, easy to use - even with iOS)
Tempted to buy at this price... but future is in established brands with smart capabilities or smart straps to go with timeless timepieces

I picked up one fo these a while back, cracking watch that does what it says on the tin, reads all notifications from my iphone. i might get another just as a back up....

xiaomi amazfit probably looks the best bet for the future -11 day battery life

I'm using one of this and it's working good so far on iPhone 6s ( I used Apple Watch in my past ) I think this is good deal.

Nice find

Heat added, bought, cheers

Heat added. Bought for my teenage son.

No, Fitbit bought some of their assets and IP and took on 40% of their employees, but not the company. It ceased trading.

Which is a good reason to boycott FitBit in my book.

How is this not hotter!?

Hi, how far away from your phone can you be and still get notifications etc? Does it only work within a few feet or is it quite a good range? Thanks

Love the way people on here mention poor Apple Watch sales even though there are no numbers for Apple Watch sales at all. Do people just think their assumption constitutes fact or do they know something we don't?

Re Pebbles, notifications are not server-based so features such as that and alarms - basically the only things I ever used my Pebble for - could work for years. I'm still using an app from three years ago that defines itself as incompatible with iOS 10. Works the same as it did when I first downloaded it though.

People are jumping to conclusions. The Pebble Store is likely dead soon though, so it'll be goodbye to apps and custom watchfaces. Personally this wouldn't bother me as I never used them, but this Withings doesn't have customisable watchfaces either, and is unlikely to get any more support than the Pebble in future.

I'd still be happy to use a Pebble, given my use-case and if the price sinks I'll be grabbing a Time Steel.

Your book must be full of ****. Fitbit didn't do anything wrong. No one forced pebble to sell up to them.

Sounds good to me.

Got one at this price in the summer. Never wanted a "smart" watch with all the myriad functions. This does texts, emails, call alerts (and live football scores) brilliantly on a surprisingly clear display. Notifications easily switched off when you want to switch off. The watch part just works. One of best buys this year. Smart battery life not as good as billed but still fine. I've never run out as it's quick to charge for another couple of days. I too might buy a backup.

I'd say about 30 feet with no obstructions. Maybe significantly shorter if left inside a locker.

I recommend people pass on this watch I bought both this and the original Pepple . The Pebble is far more professional and rocksolid and indestructible . The Pebble has some really handy apps , the notifier is pretty neat in its own right but pretty soon you might find yourself wanting more of a smartwatch

It's Bluetooth connectivity so 10 meters range, it's always connected in my house if I left my iPhone somewhere in the house but again 10 meters range.

Warranty will be shot, so could be a good call if you're worried about breaking it.

If it could control my music I'd be in. May get one anyway at this price though

Thanks OP bought one.

has anyone ever broken a pebble original?

Got one a few months back as I cant use my phone in the corridors at the school I work in , so just keep my phone in my pocket, works great and you can set any app on your phone to use it , I have texts, calls, whatsapp, messager, google keep etc etc , never wanted a smart watch but this is great, about 30 feet is about right but I get 7/10 days off a charge but I am a light user, has a tether function that works well and a phone finder...

The only downside is the tap watch to view last message can be a bit hit and miss....

Best thing about the watch is that it looks like a watch nice and understated and the watch works off a battery so keeps going even if you forget to charge it...

As another poster said , probably my best buy this year............

I looked at this some time ago and would have pulled the trigger except for one thing:

It's not water resistant

This put me off but at this price I wouldn't worry about it....

I agree. I've tried a few different smartwatches but always stopped using them for one reason or another...bad battery life...can't see the screen in sunshine...etc. But I've been using the Notifier for six months now. Great watch. And at this price, a bargain.
