Noticed Sainsburys online a selling the Avengers boxset for a very decent price of £35. Amazon are asking £56 for this. What do you think ?

Includes both Iron Man 1 and Iron Man 2

seen it at 40 so this is hot

I paid £30 on release so a slight increase. Worth it if you want them now; there'll be a phase 2 boxset out next year where you can pick up all the more recent ones anyway (and this will become super-cheap)...it depends on how long you want to wait for this to go down in price again.

This will keep someone very busy and entertained for a while. Thanks for posting

I posted this last year it went 300- haha

Decent price, exactly what I paid for it last September with Amazon. I recall some lucky bods managed to get it for £9 from Asda (bit of a price error!)

Trying to get rid of the final copies before Iron Man 3, and then Thor 2, gets added later in the year to make an 8 film box set.

This set is VERY VERY plastic and nowhere near as impressive as they'd planned. I thought after the lawsuit they may have gone all out to make this set nice but in fact they churned out the cheapest possible. I was very underwhelmed when I got mine.

As for the price reduction, I'm not sure any part of 'phase 2' will make this decrease. Iron Man 3 will be part of a Phase 2 box set and have nothing to do with this initial phase. That being said, it will decrease over time (Although probably increase when the phase 2 box set comes out in 5 years or whatever it will be)!

As I said above, there will not be an 8 film set

Paid £34 on release, excellent boxset!

Do you wish you hadn't got it? Mine is still unopened. Not sure whether to keep it or sell it.

avengers 2 isn't out until 2015

For the person talking about the lawsuit ,that was for the suitcase set not this.I've got this digipak and it's really nice with nice artwork.

'Avengers' just arrived on Netflix now...Yay!!

That's not something to worry about. This is an Avengers Phase One boxset. Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 are part of Phase Two. So by, say, Christmas 2015 there'll be another boxset that contains Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers 2. I'm sure they'll keep trying to milk it by doing a new boxset every time a new movie comes out, but if you get the Phase One boxset you can just add the Phase Two boxset to your collection and not worry about any others.

This boxset is really well priced for the movies that are in it - considering that some of them, especially Iron Man and Iron Man 2, regularly sell for around £10 even pre-owned. My only reservations are that a) it doesn't include the 3D versions of any of movies, and I'd quite like at least The Avengers in 3D, and b) the lack of special features - it's one disc only for each movie, so no second disc special features, and the UK release of The Avengers lacks the director's commentary.

That was the Avengers Assemble 3D Blu Ray ... I was one of those lucky bods who got it for that price on release day!!

I got it this price off Tesco - very, very worth the price. Hadn't seen these films before getting the set and I was very impressed - especially with Avengers.

I'll be buying Iron Man 3 on launch and definitely watching the next Thor when it releases. Knew I was missing something, these Marvel films were that missing something.

The only warning I give about this box set is that the discs look like they've been taken straight out of separate blu ray cases and stuck in this. My iron man 2 disc even says "Disc one" on it. It doesn't bother me but may bother others

Beyond anything - I just love what they have been doing with the Marvel series. Think they have done them great service. Really enjoyed all the films.

These people who say theyre not buying the boxsets because theres a new movie coming out so will wait for the complete boxset(s) I find a little starnge because that means where Avengers is concerned you may be waiting approx 6-7 years (and who knows if they keep on coming out year after year, may be longer) to buy them.
I know sombody who wouldnt buy the Die Hard boxset with 1-4 for £10 on bluray becaue he wanted pt5 in it too but he'll have to wait approx another 2-3 years now to buy it as Die Hard 6 is being planned....why not just stick any new additions next to the boxset on the shelf.

Needs Iron Man 2 as this was a crucial pre-cursor to Avengers.

The Avengers is Iron Man centric I beleive.

How has this deal gone 360+ when 4 weeks ago someone else posted it the same and -28!?! Seems more than slightly inconsistent!
I only back searched as I'm sure I picked it up for £30 from Tesco at xmas so to me that's the 'hot' deal benchmark.

If you read the thread you would also see that it was talking about the correct set, not the set from the OP

So since Disney now own the rights to the Marvel film universe, is the Hulk/Iron Man a re-issue or still Universal/Paramount discs?

Would there be any difference between them? Those films will never be re-packaged as disney dvds as they were not the studio behind them when they were made

I don't know what the difference between them is, that's why I initially asked. I thought maybe Disney re-issued the discs for the boxset, since they now attain the rights. And there would be new special features or something.

How can Disney be allowed to release The Hulk/Iron Man (property of Universal and Paramount) in this boxset? A little confused. I'll have to YouTube it.

They struck a deal with Paramount.

Gone now.
