It's worth a punt at £3.99, it was bad during the first months of release but I'm sure that it's been fixed. I bought it for £3.99 just to give it a go. Would never have paid £44.99 for it on release.

Yeah that's true, can't be that bad!

Yeah I’d say so. Did buy at release and enjoyed it. Yes, it’s the weakest in the series but it’s not a bad game if you like sci-fi action games. Got a kick out of the multiplayer which is basically the same as 3’s.
This is a good game, just don't expect to love it the same way you did the OG series, if (like me) you're that old.

This crew are basically kids - early 20s - Not the 30ish of Shep and co were. This game is made for a younger generation of star farers, and it's definitely the weakest game in the series. Still, at £4 it's a very good purchase.

Just a note that EA may be remastering the older titles and releasing them on PS4.

I've been waiting to play Andromeda but I haven't finished the previous titles so holding out for this release!

Although I was a die hard fan of the original trilogy I must say this is the weakest of all outings. Can't go wrong at this price and there's at the very least 20+ hours of gameplay in there with some parts being gated to make it appear longer than it should be.

You will find it quite repetitive, doing the same thing over and over from planet to planet and the story is not as engaging. Don't be suprised if you give up before completing it, there's quite a few people I know that couldn't hack it till the end, I for one ground it out.

They should have released DLC for this, could have been so much better than the actual story of the game.

You literally summed up my experince, repetitive and story totally non engaging. Gave up about half way in
This game sadly had alot of development issues with ea dictating the direction and what game engine that bioware should use. Same happened with anthem. What I will say though is alot of the bugs have now been ironed out and it runs alot better. I personally enjoyed the deep customisation of armour and weapons and powers. Wouldn't of said no to a canon on the nomad like we did on the mako though. Definitely worth a go a this price.
Once they'd fixed this game, it wasn't too bad to be fair. The gameplay mechanics were/are absolutely spot on, and if they inserted them into hypothetical remasters of 1, 2 and 3 I'd be all over them. The only thing letting it down was the script & general story. It just felt a bit flat all the way through.

It's certainly worth it at this price though, and you will have fun. Just don't expect ME2 levels of brilliance.

I think the re-masters are definitely coming. Bioware currently working on a number of projects.

- Anthem 2.0 (although radio silence on that front for obvious reasons)
- New Dragon Age
- Mass Effect Original Trilogy Remasters including a rumoured switch port too.
I just completed this, one grind of a trophy away from the plat. I played much of it on V1.0 to make use of the leveling exploit to save me some time. I've actually had more freezing issues since I updated to V1.10. Got to 70 hours and then clocked the Insanity difficulty in a few hours with a biotic god build.

I think on balance the good outweighs the bad. The Research/Development system was poorly implemented and moving between planets/areas can be a test of patience, but many of the glitches can be resolved with a save and reload, which is quite quick and drops you back at the point of save. The combat system is fun and I liked my crew.

The only trophy I had difficulty with was the Friendly Fire one, look it up before you start your game to save you an additional playthrough.

This sums up my feelings on it too. Excellent foundation for a game but didn't have anywhere near the writing standard of the original games. I got into Andromeda enough to get the platinum trophy. I made my character and got behind him all the way, but the side characters weren't that compelling and the villains felt a bit generic after the epic forces you were up against in the original trilogy.

Just a decent game!
