Not a bad price for £19.99. Perhaps you could ring the store and check how many they have in stock, to avoid disappointment before going to the store....?

Good luck with that I placed a order a few weeks ago, no mention that you had to collect the next working day or it would be cancelled, rang the store the whole sunday to try and speak to someone with no luck come monday the order was cancelled and eventually spoke to the store and they just claimed they were too busy to answer phones, that orders can't be held, yet i'd paid in full.

What a joke of a company, what business cancels a paid for order.

Check there facebook page nothing but bad stuff about smyths, buy elsewhere IMO.

A company that includes this in their 'order in progress' email:

"When will my order be ready?
Your order will be ready next day and held for collection until close of business the following day.*
For example, if you have placed your order on Monday, it will be ready on Tuesday and will be held for collection until close of business on Wednesday."

That's the problem with the world today, always looking for somebody else to blame.

v once in store in stock checks, pick and pack procedures have been completed you will receive a second email containing a unique order reference number and a barcode for your order and confirming that your item(s) is in stock in your chosen store and has been reserved for your collection at any time until close of business 2 days after your order date;

xii if you do not collect your order by the end of the working day following the date of your order, your order will be automatically cancelled and you will receive an email confirming this order status;

xiii on cancellation of your order, either by request, due to out of stock item(s) or as a result of non collection, the pre authorisation check on the card holder details provided will be released. It may take 5-8 working days for this process to be completed depending on your bank or credit card provider. Please note this delay is not on the part of Smyths Toys and is completely outside of our control;

Night night...

To be fair re the click and collect the T&C's conflict each other because I've just had this issue myself...
V says you they'll hold your order until 2 days after your order date...xii says that if you don't collect your order the next working day following your order date it will be cancelled.

I had a problem with their click and collect. Placed an order late one evening and then only had until the end of the following day to pick it up because they counted the day of order as day one, despite the store being closed at the time.

everybody does the same - argos, toysrus, b&q etc ... why would that be a problem?!?!? its obvious ...

I've always had more than 24 hours for a collection at argos. I had assumed that ordering at 9pm on a Tuesday (for example) would give me 2 working days to collect, so until the end of Thursday not until 6pm on Wednesday. It wasn't a big deal in the end because I re-ordered on the day I was going to collect (that time I ordered at 8am and my order wasn't ready until the afternoon).

From Argos website

If in stock, they will be available for immediate collection and held … If in stock, they will be available for immediate collection and held until the end of the next working day

so in your scenario, if you would order something 9pm on Tuseday it will only be held by end of Wednesday - same as Smyths.

I've just checked through my recent orders and have longer than that. One placed on Saturday evening reserved until Monday, a few on a Tuesday reserved until Thursday...thats probably why I had expected something else.

Anyway I was just highlighting that reserving something at 11pm means you have to collect it the following day for those who didn't realise (like myself). Its not a big deal

Does anyone k.ow how long this is on for

Decathalon!

How are these sites going to cope on Friday? 00:25 and this and others are slow/crashing.

This is interesting about the collection date. I thought if I ordered tonight, after receiving the confirmation email I would then have 2 days to pick up, so Saturday would be ok. Also I cannot seem to get SMYNOV6 to remove £6 of the total price, whereas it does remove £12 with the SMYNOV12 code.

Was in smyths today and was told the codes won't work on any software, xbox one and games etc.....

That made me chuckle!

Why all this complaining about their collect from store service. How long do people want stores to hold stock for?! they already get messed around by us lot with huge numbers of returns that all costs money to be handled / dealt with not to mention people that reserve items and never go get them (at other stores but I'm talking generally).

They do tell you there is one day to collect and I'm sure that if you didn't realise and phone the store that they will keep the item for you for an extra day or 2 (if you call before the time expired). Either way, reading is useful even in this day and age, perhaps if they send the message via Facebook more would take notice!

There's 2 days to collect. I ordered some items the night before last & could have collected them anytime yesterday but chose to collect them this evening.

That's not quite right actually. The same thing happened to me. I placed (and paid for) my order at 11.30pm on Tuesday, got an 'order in progress' email on the Wednesday morning saying not to collect until the order was confirmed. I then received an email at lunch time saying my order had to be collected by close of business THAT DAY i.e. the Wednesday!! I had found a good deal on an item so had no choice but to travel to the nearest store (1 hr down the motorway) once I'd put the kids to bed and left them with their dad. I'd planned to go a couple of days later and make a day of it shopping but sadly cancelled that. I probably would have spent more in the shop too. I even rang the store and asked them just for one extra day so I could go on the Thursday but nope that wasn't allowed even though the staff member originally said I could until she asked her manager! Definitely put me off the store anyway.

I tried ringing the store and they said the money is automatically refunded at the end of that day so you can't get any extra time. When you don't get told you can collect until lunch time and it has to be that day I do think that is a bit ridiculous. Also it's not just a reservation either as you input payment details so they take the money. Then if the item isn't picked up they shouldn't actually lose out at all so why such a short collection time?
