Much lighter but just as good, would very much suit those who can't lift heavy things. Le creuset are a fine example and also 4 / 5 times the price

£25 for a cast iron one. Given the health scares over aluminium cookware the extra tenner is money well spent.

It'd weigh a tonne and corrode easily. Much prefer stainless steel.

That's statement is completely untrue and there is no science that would back up that claim.
The toxicity of ELEMWNTAL aluminium is dependent on what it is bound to eg chloride.
The amount of aluminium we get from food alone is at least 10x higher than from cooking utensils.

Ps. Great deal but I'm investing in cast iron so this will look out of place
Oos
Thanks OP! Bought the 5L with discount code! Going to smash out alot of batch cooking with this

Yeah all those decades-old cast iron skillets have just corroded away to nothing, haven't they

I'd bet the majority of iron skillets in people's lives have rusted and been binned. I think it's the few rather than the many that take/have the time to scour and "season" them.
Stainless steel, on the other hand: never had to do more than wash it with a sponge. Still shines, still smells clean.
