Comes in at £14.78 delivered

My local Adli (Coventry Radford) still had plenty of the higher spec model when I called in on Saturday - they were listed in this deal:
hotukdeals.com/ite…st/

see: aldi.co.uk/uk/…htm

I bought one when they were first on offer, fine, if a bit big, as you might expect!
£14.99 still, but extra functionality, (network etc.) so potentially a better buy for very little more. As many Aldi deals last longer these days, other stores may well still have them too, so cold for me.

Argos were doing the same one as aldi a few months ago now for a tenner and picked one up then

I got two of these for I think £5 each when woolies where doing them. They are very good.

Delivery is nearly £5 that's half the cost of the device!!! you can get it from maplin's ]here for only £12.49 its not masterplug but im not a brand person.

Product Features

* Protects equipment from surges and spikes
* Add extra sockets where needed
* Switch all plugged in appliances on and off, reducing the need for standby, saving money and energy
* 2m cable and fitted plug with 10 sockets rated at 13A
* 2 transformer style sockets with wider spacing for bulky plugs
* Power on/off switch
* Surge active and power on indicators
* Thermal fused protection
* Neat solution to cable management for up to 10 appliances

:whistling: not hot deal for me delivery makes it cold!

I got one from Argos too. Very pleased with it, and being a tower, it's a bit easier too access than a normal strip of sockets when you're scrabbling around under your computer desk

Eh? you will pay for delivery from Maplin too!

The main point though, it isn't nearly the same product, it hasn't got the telecom surge protection, so your DECT gear or router or modem will fry! ;-)

The fact you have not included delivery (especiialy as you have no choice but to pay) in the title gets cold from me.

Has anyone seen one of these with an individual on/off switch for each plug ?

Excellent point, worth paying at least £5 more for a switched version. It will be hard work having to pull the plugs off.

Err does + Delivery not give you a clue?... it wasn't obvious how much it was and I was posting in a hurry to try and help people... sometime I wonder why anyone bothers to post anything on here.

Where on earth did you get the idea that just power cuts cause surges?

Power surges can and do happen to anybody! I am sure these people recently hadn't had power cuts first -
news.bbc.co.uk/1/h…stm

Then of course there is lightning - my parents house and two friends have had near misses in the last 15 years, no actual strike on the house, yet with considerable damage to electrics. My parents was the worst and they lost most.As well as a tree in the garden ,a stairlift, and almost every other electrical appliance that was plugged in: TV, video, radio, hifi, even a telephone/alarm system. I have been surprised at how many people I have spoken to since has a similar story happening to friend & relatives.

Fry?... yes their video was the MOST fried. I am sure a modem or router will look just like it has been if the phone line gets strike!"

I didn't have protection then either, but I have now.

been lookin for something liek this for ages too, they're always either surge protected without switches or switched without surge protection. Saw a switched surge protection one at robert dyas for £30/35 which is a crazy price, think it was a belkin for home cinema extension, why is it when they add the words for home cinema to such products, the price always seems to jump to around £30 :x
seen a similar product to this one at robert dyas as well: robertdyas.co.uk/web…=-1 i think this is the one, was similar price and does have one switch

In my experience (working in IT) and from a electrician these surge protection devices offer little protection I think there is more chance of winning the lottery than been hit by lightning.

Thank for finding that but really need a 10 way

This arrived the other day for me - no sockets for broadband/phone, and it's grey not white. Not a problem for me in our new office, but noteworthy for many I expect...

Also worth noting that they only offer £1000 connected equipment guarantee - one from Belkin would likely have £20000-£40000 warranty... I think this is Masterplug's way of admitting that it's not very high quality.
