Sounds a bit kinky, is it safe?
Have one of these at work and really do not like it. The lid is a pain, and when you plug things in the sockets never feel right.
I thought it was good for £14 ish. Happy with mine.
Had one for several years now. Well worth that price.
Thanks op, I picked one up today from Nottingham, lots on the shelf.
Got one on the last offer. Great quality
Which cable should be used with these?

2.5mm 3 core 6242 or 3183 would be ok.
If your not sure get a professional to fit it .
Does anyone know if you can plug an RCD into these?
Looks like the lid and the fact the socket is recessed could get in the way...

No, it won't close with anything other than a plug in it

I wasn't looking for it to close.
Just want to put a socket outside my front door to run extension lead to my car, to save having to have a door or window open, especially in cold weather
Also don't forget your wickes trade pro app to get a further 10% off

Just asking as I have a couple of sockets in the shed not fitted by me, an electrician gave it a once over and passed it. But we have had small leaks, so I was wondering if it would be better to have a submersible setup!

Should be OK then I guess unless your RCD extends past the top / bottom of a normal sized socket faceplate so wouldn't fit inside the grey plastic bit of this. You can get RCD versions of these for a little bit more as well.

I would hope your consumer unit has RCD protection & if not, upgrading that would be a good idea.

The plug in RCDs have the same 30mA trip current as the ones in consumer units, so no additional benefit.
