This heavy-duty single socket extension lead eliminates the problem when you need to use an electrical appliance but aren’t near a socket outlet.

With 10-metres of long orange cable, so you can easily see the cable, especially helpful when working on DIY projects. This single socket extension lead is great to use in the home as well as in the office.

Ten metres long cable
If you’re worried about the long length of the cable, why not fix around door frames and skirting boards using cable clips, for more permanent usage.

Safe to use
As it is manufactured to BS1363-2 and the non-rewireable single socket extension lead has a 13 Amp fuse.

Slimline appearance
With a rounded compact slimline appearance, the single socket extension lead also has a safety shuttered socket.

Regardless, great price for a 10m cable, op. As someone else said, you couldn’t buy the component parts cheaper.

A quick look on Amazon shows it is hard to buy just the flex at this price. Excellent deal.

Not sure if your being sarcy or serious I to face such difficult decisions.
Same price, one is much more cable for the money. The other the correct length. Why is life so hard!

A little misleading, quotes it has a 13A fuse, but the cable is only rated at 10A (doesn't mention that in the description) Still a good bargain though.

Personally I'd just move whatever needed plugged in closer to the socket......

How do you know the cable is rated at 10A? If it's a 1mm² or 1.5mm² cable ( looks like a 1.5mm² in the photos) is more than capable of carrying 13A.

I googled the part number, 1st website said 10A. Looking on the master plug site, it states 13a fuse, and quotes 3120 watts. Looking through the questions on Amazon someone stated it's 1.0mm2 flex. I'd be interested to know for certain, but I think it's more likely to be 10A.

The 10m looks and feels very well made

Most other retailers for the part quote '10A cable' rather than the 'premium fuse' as Amazon do.

Yes I'm sure it's 10A, have cancelled mine after being misled on the masterplug website
Still a good deal for those who don't need 13A
Looking to keep this in my electric for emergencies. The charger pulls 10A, will it be okay with this or will running the cable at max capacity for multiple hours cause issues?
Does any body know if you could use this in an external protective pipe to run electricity wire to the shed in garden

If it's uncoiled and in open air you should be fine safety wise. The cable will just act as a low power heater.

I just consulted an online energy loss calculator.

It suggests at 10a you might waste 34w in the wire (if this is indeed 1mm², which obviously comes out as heat.

If instead you got a 2.5mm 10m cable, you'd loose 14w in the cable instead.

So worth thinking how much use it would get to see whether it's worth upgrading to thicker cable.

A 1mm² is capable of carrying about 16A if it's not buried in a wall, I don't know why they say it's rated at 10A, maybe it's so people don't use it for something that needs more than 10A, and you shouldn't really use it for something that is going to pull more than 10A due to whatever you plug in will pull more power to start than the amount that is required to run it. This goes for anything that has 13A fuse, that is the maximum load, it's not advisable to run something that will need 12.5A to run.
The cable will be fine, the fuse will go way before the cable.
