Half price for excellent toy - my son has had similar "Mega Rig" toys before and (we) loved them.... has been reduced before in various places, but not this low?

The Awesome Mega Rig Shuttle Mission can be reconfigured into 30 different cosmic vehicles for tons of fun and space adventure! There's a Rocket, Launcher, UFO and many more vehicles for you to build!

Use the 33 parts and push pieces together to build and create cool spacecrafts!

Let your imagination take the spaceman on a fabulous space mission! Watch out for the Alien in his UFO with cool missile launchers, sound effects and working lights!

Matchbox Mega Rig Shuttle Mission is a great way to encourage imaginative play! A wonderful item for boys with an interest in space!

This has really good reviews at ]Amazon. I have seen it for £14.99 somewhere on the high street (it may have been Woolworths when they were clsoing down) but I would definitely pay £19.99 for it if my son didn't already have so many toys

Is this the same one at Tesco direct for £24.99 ? Would it be suitable for a 6year old boy's birthday?

I would thoroughly recommend this - I gave one to my son for his 5th birthday and he loves playing with it as there are lots of different combinations!:-D

Box says age 4+, though personally think a 4-year old would struggle to accurately put all pieces together. My sons 7 and he's fine with it. The thing I like is it makes numerous different things so you can make different games up and its "useful life expectancy" increases. (PS - the last MegsRigs I had, I sold for £8 at a car-boot so you get some money back too!)

Thanks for getting back.

Popped into our local Entertainer store in Brighton - No surprise - No stock  Was hoping to save the £3.95 postage.
If I ordered today I can get amazon to send it direct to "birthday boy", but worried they might accidently include the invoice. What do you think?
