This is a fantastic intro to the vexed field of sex and gender currently causing so much strife. Kathleen Stock is the philosopher hounded out of Sussex University for her views. If you want to know what she actually thinks, get this book.

Despite being written by a philosopher it's very readable and presents a thoughtful, rational case for the importance of biological sex.

Even if you disagree with it, it's worth understanding Stock's point of view and for 99p this is a bargain.

    Interesting book I'm currently reading a copy I ordered from the library. Not a light read but at 99p, a bargain if you're interested in finding out more about the issues and debates around trans people's identities and rights.

    I agree with the first poster. I’m trying to read as widely as I can on this issue from both sides, and whilst it isn’t light I’m so far finding it to be more engaging than a lot of others who write about this. Either way, a bargain at 99p. I do think it’s a shame that really good Kindle deals like this often don’t go hot, but the endless “a life from beginning to end” nonsense always does.
