Good set of budget wheels, not the lightest but very robust.

Definitely not the lightest but a cracking set of wheels at that price. Thanks OP!

Very durable and good brand. Not that heavy for training hoops and not bad for putting your winter tyres on this season either!

Good set of wheels. Robust and not overly heavy. You'd have to pay a fair bit more to get something noticeably lighter.

Wiggle do them for £112.50 as standard with free delivery if that's easier for people.

These come with free delivery as well

Slightly lighter version with suitable winter tyres and tubes for £154.38, which is a cheaper overall price:

you should check out superstar components for something of similar price but a bit lighter if that's what you are looking for, they often have big discounts and voucher codes.

better than OP? especially as tyre and tubes
included, seems a good deal

I've got these wheels and they are great! haven't skipped a beat in 3k of cycling

Thanks. I've put +1k miles on my Canyon with Aksiums and Mavic tyres and thinking I might get a winter set. Even the tyres still have tread on the edges! Seriously tempted!

My personal findings of cheap Mavic is poor, commuter friend had Aksium on his winter bike, went out of true 2/3 times, broke 3 spokes and then later the whole wheel basically imploded on itself. Returned to Mavic in the end, poor build.

I have some Cosmic Elite I used on my winter bike, those are somewhat better but ended up selling them and replacing with some R501, for the most part a "downgrade" but they seem perfect for the application I require them for.

I'd go for a set of these if I were buying today, £61 for me with platinum discount, otherwise £70 if you don't:

I have the 55mm carbon on my best bike:

Nice bike you have there...what Scott model is that? (nice to see Orica Bike Exchange doing well on their Scott bikes) I was tempted by the latest Foil model but opted for a Canyon Endurace with a Dura Ace groupset which offered far better value.
Happy cycling.

That's a Scott Foil Team Issue HMX if I'm not mistaken? With Ultegra Di2? Very nice

Thanks mate, Scott Foil Team Issue (2013), Di2.

I'd love a Canyon Aeroad, probably between that or a Cervelo S5 for my next ride in a few years I think.

aemscor - The Cosine stuff is great VFM. Mavic is fine, but you're paying for the brand, and to be honest at this level I'd rather the money go toward the product than funding Mavic's marketing budget. As I say, I still have a set of Cosmic Elite in my shed but unless you're looking at a set of R-Sys or Krysium Elite I personally wouldn't bother with Mavic, IMO they're their best products by a long way in you want factory wheels.

If you want some truly bulletproof wheels that are highly serviceable and will last, get some handbuilts, like these Mavic:

Built my first road bike about 5 years ago, with Aksium as my wheel set. Honestly they've been bomb proof - there are some truly shocking roads around here and I often ride on local cycle paths too which means on / off kerbs and stuff - the wheels are still straight as an arrow, never broken a spoke, etc. Highly recommended.

yep I second that. Had mine 6 years. Only replaced because break surfaces where dangerous thin

These came fitted to my Boardman Pro Carbon Road Bike

Mine doesn't say 'Race' on them though... Just Mavic Aksium. Are these meant to be better in any way?
