I was looking for one of these to replace one in an old iMac. They normally retail for around £6 and I had bought one on EBay for £2.25. But I happened to be in Maplin today and saw one for 65p reduced in the closing down sale to 23p! I think these are a discontinued range because they sell and almost identical cell for £6.50 and this 23p one does not appear on the website. At this price I’d have bought every one they have, but sadly this was the all alone. If you deal with older computers it would be well worth checking your local Maplin and stocking up.

I hope you enjoy changing 30,000 batteries before your morning commute because they're not rechargeable
Thanks op I will check my local store
just looking for this...
This is where the real loss is going to be. I recap and repair old computers, and maplin has been extremely useful in grabbing the odd component I didn't want to wait for ebay on.

See if you have an RS Components near you, they are cheaper, have more varied stock, and the staff usually know their stuff more than those at Maplin. Only issue is I think they tend to be around industrial areas and not on the high street. They tend to sell to trade.
