Good price. Paid £150 for mine. It's not the loudest but it adds a great depth to the sound. Helps me hear speech better and just generally gives better definition all round. 3 HDMI inputs is a big plus.

For the price nothing else comes close.

A great piece of kit at a great price. Hot!

I bought the less powerful version and it did add depth to sound but I just couldn't get the ARC to work with my Samsung TV- and the remote that comes with it is "child/hobbit" sized so thought it would get lost soon enough.

Bloody expensive!

Bloody clueless...

Reasonable price for a soundbase that's well connected, much better than a cheap & nasty soundbar.

I have one in the lounge and it is fantastic value at this price. Hot like fire for me.

Lot's of heat man.

For the money this a great deal. My brother has one and the sound is great. This soundbase has more connection inputs then soundbars twice the money. 4 HDMI's,USB,Optical,RCA. He demonstrated the Bluetooth function from his android phone and it gave a sound performance like my own hi fi unit. I see on Amazon it's a £171.72.

I 've just bagged one myself using £50 off with the double up of clubcard points.

Is this any good for improving the speech in some films. Tried the Sony ht-xt1 some time ago didn't help at all.

Yes I had £25 in Clubcard points, using the current Clubcard boost it doubled up to £50 Off. The code the OP suggested would not work as well for me, it's either use one or the other, the clubcard boost deal gave me a better price.

The Maxell has Preset EQ Settings - Cinema/Speech/Music/Sport/Standard. I use the Music setting most of the time and find that's clear for me across watching tv,bluray and also listening to music. For some reason the BBC News channel sounds to my ears to have more treble then other channels.

I,ve just tried and tested the 'Speech' setting on the soundbase for you and it actually does make the speech more clearer giving a crisp and more enhanced output, it's not my prefered listening mode, I still like the music setting. I hope this helps.

I don't think you will be disappointed. I've just been listening to some music via the Bluetooth and it still sounds great. If you have a sky box, bluray player, xbox or amazon fire stick these can all be plugged into the Maxells 3 x HDMI ports.

This thing is HUGE (or, at least bigger than you think), so don't forget to consider this aspect & measure the footprint it's going to occupy before purchasing.

Sound advice, when i got mine i had to get a bigger tv stand, though well worth it, and a deffo bargain at this price.
