Been sometime since this was last posted ( credit @yvette.carless for thread back in August 2018) but thought it was worth sharing again since it's not often a company offers such great customer service

If you own a Maxi-Cosi Baby / Car Seat & are unfortunate enough to be involved in a car accident then Maxi-Cosi will replace your Car Seat if needed for Free - they'll even deliver the new seat & collect your old one too!

My Maxi-Cosi Car Seat has been in an accident, what do I need to do?

First of all you need to contact the Maxi-Cosi Customer Care Team on the get deal link, they will ask you some basic questions regarding your accident & decide whether you need a Free replacement - if you do, they will ask you for some more info eg pictures / a completed Maxi-Cosi insurance form ( which they will send you )

Once they have determined that you do need a new one, they say that

You’ll receive:

• a brand new car seat, similar to the one in the accident, sent as quickly as possible so your child can travel safely
• free collection and delivery service

They can only advise / replace Maxi-Cosi car seats - so if you are looking to replace yours, it may be worth considering a Maxi-Cosi one just in case

Honestly after my wife had a accident the maxi cosi process was a massive inquisition.. Contacted and they basically found lots of reasons why they wouldn't allow the swap service.. I. E. More statements, photos, how if the speed or direction wasnt right they wouldnt allow a swap.. I provided everything and after a lagged process and several emails they told me to go back to insurers (this months after accident) and find out if they can pay out for new car seat.. and then also to get written evidence from insurance about being 3rd party and or if they will not allow this etc.. After the amount of back and forth I just felt it was more of a marketing thing rather than a service they would actually promote for genuine customers who just wanted reassurance of having a car seat not comprised post accident.. Just ended up buying a diff brand seat I saw on offer on HUKD! I'm not saying it might be the same level of service for everyone but I do feel they promote this more as a marketing gimmick but that could be my experience.

They are much stricter now, I used to get a new seat every 6-12months so …They are much stricter now, I used to get a new seat every 6-12months so it was nice and clean. They have now started asking all sorts of questions about the crash which I couldn’t answer

Congratulations on helping to make genuine claims more difficult because you wanted a “new clean seat”. That’s pretty sad.

They sent me forms to fill in. Had to tell them where the accident was, how fast I was going, what happened etc.
Nice way for them to have test results for their chairs in actual crashes lol. But fair play good offer.

if you have an accident the car seat is replaced for free? By car insurance? 😯
I used this service for seat and base when hubby wrote our car off last year. Found it very straightforward and couldn't fault Maxi cosi. They even allowed me to keep the carseat covers as it matched my pram and the colour was now discontinued.

Yeh if you have fully comp.. Most companies will cover this..

Imagine this might have been before lots of people were aware of the service.. Prehaps they had lots of people trying to claim after its become more well known.. And they have made it much more stringent.. Honestly I had a genuine accident with reasons and proof but would have been easier getting a mortgage. There responses were very much in the tone of needing more and more burden of proof.

They should do proper crash tests in advance. A standard test (to comply with ECE R44/04 standard) ensures just a minimum level of safety. The standard testing speed for frontal collisions is just 30 mph.

Do they also replace a child if it gets 'damaged' during the crash?

I'm just saying that those big companies only care about a profit not us or our kids.

Maybe but you could often get the updated model.

They still won’t replace. It’s a fuss even you prove the baby was injured. It’s just a market technique to sell more of their car seats.
I had a car accident, maxi-cosi said ask insurance and my insurance paid for the car seat. If you don't want to go through insurance, then its very unlikely maxi-cosi will replace the car seat. It is a gimmick.
It's really sad companies seem to be using this as a sales tactic... I've gone off the brand completely.. Tbh if you research you can find other brands which have equal safety awards and rigour for better value.. I ended with the britax but each to own
I got a free one when someone hit my car through insurance. £120 straight into my bank

You cheat!
£100 car seat that costs about £200 in labour to complete the forms and argue about legitimacy of claim.
How is a car seat damaged in a crash? Isn't this just like the "if you slightly bash your bike helmet you need to get a new one" designed to sell extra car seats/helmets?

Fair enough if there is visible damage but a minor car crash is barely different from an emergency stop.

Cybex Cloud z is my top choice.
If this "replacement service" is as crap as people are experiencing. Why does it keep getting refreshed and voted hot?
The idea of it us excellent, but try a bite if people that have experiencenced their customer service. They twice told mothercare to send me away, out my baby in the faulty seat. Faulty as in the straps did not tighten whatsoever, he was completely loose in the seat! I made mothercare ring back and they gave the same advice again! Appalling! Said they would send someone out with a loan seat and collect my faulty one for repair in a few days! I ended up writing a review with video and posting on Facebook, and only then did mothercare respond and offer me a refund. Maxi cosi responded eventually with some crap apology. Will never use their stuff again £400 seat and that's how you're treated
