A great price for a great car seat.
I was tempted by the Graco Junior Maxi Seat (as posted on this site) and Britax Adventure Seat both on sale at Halfords, but found they only just meet the minimum UK safety standards in tests by Which? and they rated them as "Don't Buys".
The Maxi Cosi Rodi XR exceeded all Which? tests and is a top "Best Buy" seat.
Next best price I could find was £80 at Mothercare.

This is a brilliant price for this car seat. I have 4 of them for my 4 youngest children & they are excellent. As the OP says they are a lot safer than the Graco & Britax seats and you very rarely find them for this price!

not isofix but good price for those who aren't that fussed. heat added.

Great price for this car seat, never seen them this cheap. Been hoping these would be in a sale somewhere so bagged one for DD who will be very happy to have same seat as her brother :D.
Thanks for posting!

Holy crap, how many kids you got? oO

Thanks i needed one of these, triple nectar points still aswell

The Britax is not a don't buy , it came top in the tests a couple of years ago

The Rodi scored 75 and the Britax Evolva 2/3 (isofix) 77 points and the Britax Evolva 2/3 74 points

The Halfords Brtax is based on the Hi Liner which scored 71

Do they do ISOFIX for this age range?

They do an isofix version for this.

I have 3 of these. I reviewed which is the best car seat (non isofix) for my child and this was the TOP NUMBER 1 car seat at the time (2 yrs ago) tested by which,

You're right deanos. I've also got a Britax Evolva seat. I've edited the original post to show which Britax seat I was tempted by in the Halfords sale until I did a bit of research.

Thanks everyone for the heat and positive feedback.

Is it the same as this AirProtect model?

http://www.maxi-cosi.com/ot-en/carseats/kid/rodi-airprotect

It looks similar, boots lists the same one as AirProtect here:- boots.com/en/…ion

Great deal, I paid £69 and thought this was a bargain

No, I think the AirProtect version is different despite the similar look.

That's a shame (double frowny face)

Sorry but that is not the same Car Seat as it points to the cheaper "Rodi" not the "Rodi XR"

Thanks ordered now!

Just out of interest when should I switch my 27 month old into this seat? He's already the right weight at 15kg and he's pretty tall too. We currently have him in a maxi cosi axis which is rated until he is 18kg but he is quite a tight fit with a big jacket on.

Thanks

I think as long as height and weight is correct then it should be fine. My son is only 3 but is going into this seat now as his height and weight is right for it

be careful as this is quite a large seat imo. i had my son in a bebe confort stage 2/3 one first til he was around 1metre tall as his head didnt come within the headrests of the rodi.

http://www.bebeconfort.com/collection/UK/voiture_moby.htm

this is the one. Suits a slightly smaller child

looks like its unavailable now anyway...apologies-but you can see it says age 3 where the rodi says 4

Back in Stock! Many thanks!!!

Thanks, just ordered one. Info on height and weight seem to be here and here. Maxi-Cosi say from 3.5 years, 85.1cm, 13.6kg...

mothercare price match its £110 on there website, plus got a £10 gift card!!

its hard for me to recall his height at the time i first tried it but 85.1cm seems awful small..

Thanks, well he still fits into his Axis seat so will leave him there for at least another 6 months or so...

samanthab

They do an isofix version for this.

You sure about that ?

Recently bought the AirProtect and in that group of seats could only find 2 or 3 isofix models but they never had great reviews.

This is back in stock now :-)
