I have been after a Maxi Micro scooter but trying to save a bit on the £95 price tag everywhere. Thought as summer coming (!) I would share deal just got today....using code HZ92 you get 15% off the £95 price including delivery, so £80.75, and extra 5% if use quidco....cheapest anywhere that I could find!!

Why are these things so expensive? Seems like a rip off to me for a little scooter.

thats the best price ive seen for the maxi. heated

My son loves his Argos one - £10.99!
Why spend £90 for a scooter, seems crazy to me but I suspect poeple who buy these have are probably moving on from Bugaboos or Phil and Teds, have nannys and live in West London.

Agreed Its madness....

great price for the product - code also works for the mini version.

They are expensive but worth every bit of money spent! If you could ride the Argos one and this one yourself you would know the difference! + you can sell them on on ebay for over 50% of what you paid for it in the first place. The Argos one will not sell for 10% of its original price.

We had the Mini Micro - it served us for 2,5 years of constant everyday use. I hesitated if we should pay 90 pounds for the bigger version from the link. I finally gave in and we love it! It is even better than the Mini version. I don't drive a car so my daughter takes it for school runs, shopping, walks and getting to see her grandmas. She can ride it for an hour on a boring walk across town and I don't get a single word of complaint. The scooters are so easy to manouver and so much fun!!!! We lent it for a day to try out to a friends who had an ''Argos'' one (i.e. cheap version of a scooter) and guess where their old scooter is and what their kids are riding now? The old one's in the shed and they got the Micro ones.
And, no, I did not move on from Phil and Ted, don't have a nanny (interestingly - I am an ex-nanny and that is how I found out how great the Micro scooters are - since looking after a few kids with different scooters I could compare the quality and ease of use ) and my husband is not an investment banker. Actually, I count my pennies carefully that is why I bought this scooter - I will get 70% of the price back after my daughter is finished with it!

HEAT ADDED! GREAT PRICE! PAID ALMOST 100 FOR OURS! GREAT DEAL.

Hot. Our kids love theirs. Last forever and nice to ride (yes, I've tried it!)

Wow some really miserable people on here.

Have some heat as this is a great price for this product.

What's wrong with having better stuff if you want to pay for it?

Do all these judgemental wear sack cloth as clothing and have just the basics.

It's a great price for this product. Why vote cold because you can get an inferior scooter cheaper? The price for this scooter is a good one.

It's like saying 15% off a Porsche isn't a good deal 'cause you can get a Peugeot for 90% less. A stupid comparison.

Great price. Paid nearly £190 for two the other week from JL, so this is definitely a bargain.

Hot from me

I love the idea that my kids have a Porsche scooter. Good analogy spratty.

Superb deal. We have the smaller one that our little girl has now grown out of. This deal couldn't have come at a better time. Thanks OP. HOT!

Really good scooter, just ordered. Thanks a lot. My son will be so happy

Sounds like a good price, any deals for thr mini micro as my daughter is ready for one!
Thanks

How do you know what scooter anyone else has got and if its inferior? A stupid comment.

The code also worked for the mini version last night.

The code also worked for the mini version last night.

really? I tried yesterday and today, the code HZ92 does not work for mini micro scooter

The code worked for the mini version for me this morning, but I did also have a maxi in the basket, is there a limit on the code? Maybe it's on a £60 spend.
These scooters are great. The price is not great. The people who scoff at them, I can only assume have not ever had their children use one, or don't have an older kid who like scootering (Madd Gears come with a price tag of £150++) Using one of these is very different to using a cheapo metal scooter (incidently if you kid does like scootering and progresses to jumping etc, then the cheap scooters are actually very dangerous)
What annoys me most about these Maxi/Micro scooters is the price. My daughter got a pink Micro from John Lewis for her 4th birthday (just over 2 years ago) and they cost £30. I thought that was a lot. I am disgusted that 2 years later they cost £52. Someone is having a laugh and making a lot more money/profit than they were!!! It has meant that I am reluctant to buy my 3 yr old one, as I resent that kind of price rise.
I have (against my instincts) just ordered one of the above. My 6 yr old is really too big for her Micro and gets teased at school for having a baby scooter. She has tried her older sisters J D Bug (£55) and simply doesn't have the useability or fun on it. My Top Cash Back has tracked at £4.03, so this scooter will hopefully cost £76 and will have a resale value (although the youngest will probably have it after)
We have a 10 minute walk to school so the kids do do a lot of walking. And for the record, I am what you would call poor. My car is 13 years old and breaks down (a lot), I buy everything in the sale and certainly do not have a nanny, as for a Bugaboo I did try one off ebay and thought it was rubbish and really annoying. Oh but I did have a Phil and Teds 7 years ago, when they were first imported, fantastic pushchair and cost me £133, again off ebay.
If you do buy one of these, you kids will most likely get a lot of use out of it. The best toy we ever bought was a large trampoline, and this rates second. The price is just so much higher than it was 2 years ago, and that is wrong.

savagevixen, thanks for your comments, you have reassured me that this was a worthwhile purchase - thanks!

I agree, the pricing is crazy, but supply and demand dictates the price. If you can sell something that for £20 more and people keep buying the product, that's what they are going to do - they're not a charity.

The companies net worth has doubled between 2010 and 2011.

Yes, the price is high, but there is nothing on the market that compares to these scooters quality wise. I also like the fact that I will be able to flog my daughters small one that she has used loads over the past 2 years for 75% of the original price.

Personally I would advise against second hand purchase, my micro was replaced by John Lewis twice in a year. Once the clip that held the stem into the base of the scooter snapped, and 1 of the rubber handlebar ends came off! Frankly I would pair no more than £5 for second hand
My son has a scooter (he's 13 and pretty good on it) and the total value of all the parts is £445!!!! But to be honest it has to be safe given the huge jumps and landings.
Foxy I wasn't dissing the quality, I think they are great, but the price is terrible for an under 8's scooter.

Voted hot - we have another scooter (£4 from a boot fair!) & I'm looking to upgrade to a mini micro as everyone I've spoken to about them is so enthusiastic.

However, I just tried putting in the code & it's not working - has it expired?

just tried putting in the code & it's working
btw it's been delivered and seems very high quality - wish i could get an adult size for this price!

Thank you so much for the code, It worked and I'm so glad as my daughter was asking for the scooter sice Xmas but couldn't afford it, £20 cheaper helps...

Just in case anyone else has the same problem, the reason the code wasn't working was because I was trying the £53 mini scooter and there must be a minimum spend. When I added a pair of socks to my basket the code worked.

Thanks for this OP. It's my daughters birthday next month and this was all she wanted. Perfect price, cheapest I've seen it.

Thank you for this - I have just bought the mini micro scooter and a wetsuit so it was over £60

Still working. Ordered. Thanks.

Hi

Thanks sooo much for this, just purchased as an eid present for my 5 year old!

Was going to buy it from JL but this works out so much better!

Hi, thank u for is, just ordered two for my boys, and pleased got £28 off! Was gonna buy from JL too, so pleased I saw this!! Kids have wanted one for a while now, as all kids at school have them and they are great quality!

My son has the micro scooter & has used this every day for 2years & his brother used it before him. We are now looking to buy the maxi scooter & £100 seems a lot to pay out for a child but when it's used everyday & will be passed down to his brothers it will work out to be a bargain. Yes I do also own a bugaboo which I love we got it in the sale & has see us through 3 boys so well worth the money too as have never had to consider another buggy like our friends who have been through prams & strollers. We wouldn't be without ours or the scooter. My oldest son had a Argos scooter & is fine for trip to park but in use every day we found we went through 3 before finding the micro & have never looked back. There are obviously some narrow minded people out there who will end up spending well over the price replacing cheap ones.

Just tried the code and it worked 5 months later...
This is the 3rd maxi micro scooter I have bought. My othe kids had cheaper scooters to start with but couldn't get in with them as they were only 2 and 3 yrs old, they went straight onto the maxi as they could use it with ease so I missed out the mini version which has saved me money. Now I'm buying another for my sons 2nd birthday as he is learning how to use his brothers. No point in buying a mini version as the minimum height is fine for little ones
and it's going to last years.
Turn my nose up at the comment about only west London have these- utter rubbish!

This still works!

Yippee! 29 October 2012, still working! Thank you!

MTG22 code will work till 12/12/2012 if you want one for Christmas with 15% off.

After 2 or 3 years you can sell it on for at least £60 if it is still working ok.

Code worked for me today - twins turn 5 next week - this just saved me £40

Agreed Its madness....

you pay for quality! 100 pound doesnt just buy the name tag. if you owned one or you kids had one you might know the difference.
