Appears to be unavailable for delivery, though.
Collection only (which would be a workout in itself!)

Ordered. Great price thanks

Not a bad deal, but doesn't come with a lot of weights, so you will likely have to spend some cash on some extra plates. Also, "Maximum user weight 125kg" not sure if this is user + weights...

Yes, I often see very chiselled, body building types in Argos

**** I bought this 2 weeks ago for 99.99!! Dam you Argos!!

That'll be for the person using it only. 125kg is around 19.5 stone.

You can use it outside Not too fun in winter, but keep a tarp over it and use a towel (like you would at a gym anyway) and you'll be fine. In the warmer weather, it's actually really nice to workout in the sun shine.

That's not a bad idea, but storage is more of the problem for me.

This must be Level 2 equipment.

Level 1 = successfully lifting yourself out of your sofa.

make room, chuck something out, a member of the family maybe, somebody that just isn't paying there way anymore or has just lost there fun factor, tell them the decision can be revised in about a year if they perk up a bit and start being a bit more interesting then they can come back in , but until that time you're working out and thats just the way it is, tell them it's just prioritizing and that you need to look after yourself more, and so do they..!

just have a move around , you'll find space.

So close, it's out of stock in my local Argos. That's that dealt with!

36kg will NoT provide you with an intense workout at all. Unless you've been playing WoW nonstop for the last 8 years.

Body weight workouts will always be a much better option instead of splurging 60 quid up the wall. Simple alternative, find a corner of a bench, or anything at a 90 degree open angle, then do some dips. You'll probably feel it after just a few if you're that out of shape.

I'm a small fat lazy bloke and got one of the older 50kg sets with bench, it's been sitting in storage for years now. Pointless money sink.

36kg wont do any damage at all. Good price for the bench and bar but you would need some extra weights too to get anything from this so try factor that in.

max user weight 125kg. I'm 80kg and I bench 60kg so there's not a lot of movement on what you can increase your weights to. Beware. Very good deal for beginners starting out though. Head added.

It says user weight, not user + weight combined weight.

You've taken too many steroids and have a mouldy brain.
User weight doesn't include the weights duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Strong deal

is it worth it just for the bench ?

Does anyone know if it has a leg curl attachment? On the picture it only seems to show the preacher attachment.

Cheers

Yeah, my brain must have been mashed. Here's the correct weight limits for all those in question.

" The maximum user weight for the Maximuscle Bench and Weights Package is 125kg. For further information the maximum weight allowed on the barbell support is 136kg and the maximum weight allowed on the leg extension is 35kg" - Argos customer service.

I am with you on this one Kris. They have no idea of how much weight you are going to lift so how can they have a user weight that doesnt include the weights as well. The bench must be rated to to a certain amount of kgs so it only makes sense that any user weight must be user + weights.

3/4 BW bench = steroids??

Took the advice of posters on here and on argos reviews
bought a york rig with dumbells and weights
for £50 off ebay like brand new local guy up
the road , wanted rid , as new condition,
very solid equipment easy worth £150
So £50 was a bargain

Make sense to who? If it meant weight of the user + weights it would say that. If you ended up badly hurting yourself because you + weights weighed more than 125kg you could easily sue Argos for not stating the correct information.

Might have a large tummy

Good if you're a young teenager.

I don't lift often but I got rid of this because it was so unstable. The two poles up at the back are standing up almost on their own.
Also if you notice the picture, there is minimal hand room between the weight plates and the actual stand, so taking it on and off requires precision to not crush your hand, which is near impossible when lifting heavy weights.
I agree with whoever mentioned getting a barbel/kettle bell free weights, thats exactly what I did after getting rid of this.

IMO it means that the maximum user weight is 125kg + the weights that come with this bench, so you're not going to be able to add a whole lot of weight to it, if you value your safety. 36kg is nothing for a grown man.

Looks better than my cheap lonsdale bench and I press 92 at 82 bw on mine. Guess this would handle similar? Mine says 225 max including bodyweight.
Don't need steroids, just a training method called periodization :-)

It does say in the Q&A section that the maximum that could you be used on the barbell is 136kg, which would more than sufficient for most people.

Correct, and this is the case for any bench/multigym that comes with weights.

It is absolutely illogical for anyone to believe this wouldn't be the case.

For anyone serious, this is a waste of money. Better off picking up a decent second hand Marcy/York bench from gumtree/ebay.
