I always get my Promax from Costco as it's usually only £24.99 which is way cheaper than anywhere else. I went in today and they had it on special offer with a free shaker for only £19.99 which is amazing!

Cheap for promax but MM products are very overpriced. Checkout myprotein or discount supplements for vastly cheaper alternatives. Not voting either way.

I've tried a few others but I prefer the taste of these and it works really well. Before I started using protein supplements I'd ache for days after the gym. The shaker thing on it's own retails at around £5, I couldn't believe how cheap it was. They had other supplements there too, most of their health stuff was discounted.

Voting should be about whether you can find the product cheaper. If not, surely it's a good deal

Not really, this is the equivalent of sticking a mercedes badge on an astra then doubling the price. There are lots of products with basically the same ingredients which do exactly the same job but are cheaper. Not voted good price for Maxi.

Original Poster

Is it not just sticking a Mercedes badge on a Mercedes?

No because that would imply the mercedes is way better than myprotein. If you read past the marketing hype that maximuscle is so good at (it is good otherwise people like you wouldn't be had hook, line and sinker), then you'd see that you can get a totally comparable product for a LOT less £££.

Maximuscle branded as Maximuscle.

I understand that you can get comparable products for less but this isn't a deal for those products. The price for this protein with the shaker is a great price. It's £34 in Tesco and at £19.99 maybe people using other branded products might get the chance to try it.

sucker!

You're not getting it. You are paying for the brand name. Why would you do that? Who cares which protein you gobble? Does you body care which label is on the tub? I think not...

Original Poster

Forget it then. It's not a deal because it's cheaper else where. Except it isn't.

I've tried the sacks of my protein for £12 or whatever and I don't like it as much as this stuff. I don't think it tastes as good or has the same texture when mixed.

This is a very good deal for this brand.
Never personally used this as I am too much of a tight wad and have always bought cheaper products.
You pay your money and take your choice. Simple as that.

Taste is subjective but there are a few bulk suppliers each with a multitude of protein options and flavours.

If like me, you prefer myprotein flavours, always worth banging a website through their pricematch. I paid £40ish for 5KG flavoured concentrate this way.

I agree, fantastic product. fantastic support online and off, the FB page has loads of competitions and stuff not to mention quiality. Never used anything half as good as MM.

Would you say that this is WHEY overpriced...

Editor

lol. nah its good for such a high quality product.

Define "half as good"

How is that measurable?

Bear in mind products such as whey protein and mass gainer type drinks are merely supplementing your existing diet. It's like saying chicken is way better than turkey. How would that be measurable in real world results?

Its measurable in many ways, Quality, mixablity, customer support, results, Propper drug screening, whats on the tub it 100% in it and the fact they have these guys on hand

http://www.maximuscle.com/aboutus/ourconsultants.html

contactable too. very good service and i cant say ive ever had any product from them that has not worked the way it was supposed to, unlike the reflex brand that gave me the GAG reflex and made me make a few trips to the loo. (never had that with MM) (not saying that happens with everyone, it did not agree with me)

Those are my reasons for choosing MM,

Its my opinion, its what works for me. and this is a very good priced product.
for me its quality, results im interested in, when you talk

Which is better "chicken or turkey"

heres something that may help

http://www.ehow.com/facts_5286434_nutritional-information-turkey-vs-chicken.html

again Different for everyone.

By the way "half as good" is a figure of speech.... sometimes people say it without having to get the tape measure out.

The example of myprotein is comparable in both these if you're comparing like with like. I assume by quality you are referring to the %protein.

customer support

Again, myprotein have very good support and are contactable directly on the top uk forums

results

This I'm afraid is laughable. You can never attribute a protein or mass product to "results". Results are a combination of a multitude of factors, with the choice of protein supp a very, very minor part of it. Do you really believe you get better results from having "maximuscle" stamped on the side of the box? Even if that said product maybe has a couple of grams per 100g more protein content? Bonkers!

Propper drug screening

myprotein are ISO certified, just like maximuscle.

, whats on the tub it 100% in it and the fact they have these guys on hand

That's great, but....

and this is a very good priced product.

lol!

Which is better "chicken or turkey"heres something that may help

There is no "better". Ideally, both would be included in a balanced diet. Neither could ever be attributable to "better gains" since either would constitute a small portion of the overall diet; just as my point with a protein supplement (the key word here being "supplement")
