I've just ordered one of these from Dabs....more expensive there at £86 inc but I had a ten pound voucher credited to my account so had a good deal.
Good spot and voted HOT

ordered mine from dabs last thursday, came the next day. its brilliant, however i wish there was an on/off button. instead to turn it off you have to unplug it. beats leaving it on overnight. hopefully will live longer this way.

good price, the same per GB as the 250GB MyBook at amazon, which I'm planning on buying.

You can get a Seagate for £79.99, that is not including various discounts and quidco.

dem16i, you sure about the power button? On a similar 250 GB model from Maxtor there is a little black push-switch (completely undocumented and also doesn't have any markings on it to suggest it is a switch) on the back.

Pretty big flaw if it doesn't have one imo. I know I wouldn't be prepared to unplug it after every time I use it.

Just a note for those that don't know, Seagate bought out Maxtor so this is technically a Seagate drive.

How did you get that price? Mine's coming out at £85.39 with 50% Super Saver delivery!

Yes I just tested it on super saver and it is £85.39...remember 1.5% Quidco...if that's the case you may get a better deal with dabs as it's about the same price but 3% Quidco

PLEH! They've put the price up. Will adjust original post. Possibly not such a great deal now :-(

Thanks for posting markwills. I added a wee piccy to the post.

Cheers, I couldn't get the pic link as I'm using IE not firefox (on holiday in Australia - using public PC which only has IE before you all hurl abuse)

You lucky so and so markwills..are you there for the ashes??

Original Poster

No, I'm working in a hospital up in the north (Darwin), although I did just pop down to Sydney for the last week. Unfortunately no ashes tickets though :-(

Am coming back tomorrow (Saturday) have spent the last 2 months here. It's been great ;-)

Back to some really awful weather...gale force wind and rain are forecast for Saturday...you'll probably be too jet lagged to notice.
