yeh seem to be quite mixed reviews

Doesn't work with Vista and there is no techical support online or on phone. You have to send an email to Maxtor and ask them to send you drivers so it's not very good. Buy an ioMega instead, they are excellent.

^^ Bit worried about lack of vista support? How is that even possible, surely it will work with anything USB 2.0 (or god forbid, 1.1). Do they mean the 1 touch / auto backup? And even so, surely maxtor have released a patch for vista?

Some iffy reviews there, but there are more reasoned negative ones.On the other hand the Firewire version of this drive has a good rating: amazon.co.uk/rev…ing

If it wasn't or the negative feedback, I'd think this a good deal. Maxtor used to have a good reputation.
