I've not read many good reviews about this product....This may be the first actually. Thanks

I have the 1TB version of this, it's auto power off when the USB port is unpowered, or after 30 mins of inactivity. I've never had any problems with mine, might buy this to plop my music on and leave the 1TB drive for movies. Highly recommended.

LOL @ a bit extra !!! ...... kinda like double the price plus another £10 !

If 500GB wasnt enough for people they probably wouldnt buy this anyway. If in a couple of years down the line say you need extra storage then I would imagine the price would be more like £40/£50 for 1.5tb !!

Not always the best plan to buy more than you can envisage using in the next 1-2years given how prices on these fall so quickly...

bit of an ugly one though isn't it

for £10 more you can have a 500gb portable (2.5") USB drive instead of lumping this huge thing around

2.5" is USB powered so does not require an external power supply to work (can run straight from being plugged into a laptop for example).

3.5" is a physically larger drive, is external powered only, so you have a bigger drive to carry around and need an external power source.

If it's going to be sat on your desk all the time this might not be an issue but the 2.5" drive offers more flexibility.

2.5" drives are usually more expensive than 3.5" but prices are coming down.

Now £42.99

]This is a better deal IMHO
