  • Seagate quality product?

I`ll swap you one of these for 3 x 4tb Seagate ones, only one problem with mine though.

I guessed, its a good price, but after 3 fails I`ll never have another one. Ive had older ones that are always on and never had anything other than the seagate ones fail. Hope the deal helps someone, but its not for me.

No, i wish Seagate would stop failing, and if it takes them to charge more for their products trhen so be it. I thought it was just trolls saying they always fail. But having had 3 die i wont buy anymore, even if they are cheap. I use WD and Intenso at the moment and have never had a problem with any of them ones.

Like you I try to stick with WD. Seagate seem to have had failure issues for years. I don't know if it's poor quality control or what. I can only speak from experience but the brand doesn't fill me with confidence.

Seagate bought Maxtor many years ago, also Western Digital own Hitatchi branded HDDs so basically no difference in quality, just stickers. and that folks is how you silence 'brand' whores there really isnt that many to pick from... just 2.

I didn't know about WD and Hitachi. I won't immediately pass by Hitachi next time.
