How much storage does this have? I thought ROM wasnt actual storage?

Would this be android pay compatible?

In Android world ROM can mean space for storage, or the software it runs. Bit confusing, but this phone has 64GB storage (bear in mind that something like 8GB could be taken up with the operating system and related paraphernalia).

Had it had a snapdragon CPU, ROM development would have been better. Good specs though

I don't think it has NFC.

As long as it gets reasonable vendor support then it should be OK. Personally I despise custom ROMs and I've never seen the point in using them.

I think they had their place for a while, especially in the early days when even Samsung and HTC devices were very much an unknown entity vendor-support wise. These days it shouldn't really be necessary though.

Without custom roms you are stuffed with these Chinese phones from small companies . Don't expect any ongoing support for this phone - if there are annoying bugs you are likely to be stuck with them .
The custom rom writers often fix these bugs when the manufacturers have simply moved on to the next model.

From my personal experience, custom ROM's usually wind up introducing more bugs than they fix.

I have this phone and for the money it's excellent. Get the negatives out of the way first - it is indeed big and it is indeed heavy. But you should realise this when ordering a phone with a six inch screen that doesn't use 18:9 aspect ratio. I find the heaviness reassuring though, it feels solid and the build quality is excellent.

Now to address some concerns, the ROM on the phone is basically stock Android 7 with some minor additions for gesture controls and some automatic actions that feed off the sensors in the phone (Turn face down to mute a call etc.). The ROM seems very stable, had no issues with play store etc. They've already released a number of OTA updates for it including camera improvements etc. Out of the box like most Chinese phones there's no app drawer, just install Nova Launcher to bring it back.

Camera is middling but in good lighting and with a steady hand you can still get some decent shots. I've found it overall to be quite snappy both running and switching apps. The real stand out here is the screen though. While not quite as 'bezeless' as say the Mi Mix the edge to edge effect is very impressive. Picture is clear and sharp, colours pop and viewing angles are great. The 'chin' on the phone even works to it's advantage here as it's a logical point to grasp it without obscuring the screen in any way. Fingerprint scanner on the chin is quick and accurate and the fact it also functions as a back button means you can hide the onscreen buttons to maximise display area.

Overall you'd be hard pressed to do better at this price IMO

With custom roms at least you may get a newer update I.e. Oreo whereas officially it might be stuck on nougat

I'd rather have stable Nougat than a dodgy port of Oreo tbh.

No case, it's big enough without adding more bulk and I struggled to find any decent ones anyway.

shipping methods are interesting, one says UK Local line - any idea what that means?

It looks like the free delivery is expedited anyway. It's from Europe so you don't have to run the gauntlet with customs that people often do when they choose express shipping from China.

Guessing no NFC?

are these (chinese phones) OK to use your banking apps on? no spyware? no back doors?

Absolutely. Your banking apps will refuse to work if they detect anything even remotely dodgy. In fact sometimes some of them are a bit too OTT security wise.

No NFC, they have HotKnot which is some Chinese equivalent but useless here.

Can't get £104, am I missing something or did I snooze and lose? Was going to give it a try while awaiting geekbuying pondering whether to despatch either phone I paid for a week or so ago.
Found it, OOS.
