I am into my 4th month of ownership of a Maze Alpha and it is the best phone I have ever owned. Hopefully this one will be the same!
If a small company can make such a device with seemingly good spec for so little, it just shows how much the big brands are fleecing the GP every time a handset is purchased.

Maybe the quality won't be up there with the SGN/SGS/iPhone, but at a fraction of the cost it will be as durable as any of the £800-£1000 handsets that are commonplace today.

Two work colleagues dropped their phones recently (iPhone and a SGS8).

Only from about waist height and the screen on the iPhone shattered badly and the SGS8 ended up with a huge unsightly crack across the screen.

This would no doubt fare just as well, but at a fraction of the cost.

A quick edit just to say I have just discovered this morning that the rear glass on my SGS7 is cracked, despite having a protective film AND TPU rear cover on from new and never actually dropping it FFS.

Only noticed when I went to place it in the Brodit charger mount in the car this morning.

God only knows why manufacturers use glass for the rear cover.

Can only imagine it's been in my pocket when I've leaned on it. Other that that, no idea.

Gonna contact bank phone insurance, guess there'll be a clause exempting rear glass cover.

Anyone else had their glass rear cover repaired under insurance?

Seems it's covered with £50 excess!

Any custom charge to uk and delivery cost and time
It appears to have Band 20. However, it's nearly 11mm thick and weighs nearly 240g so possibly a bit muckle for some.

Ré UK customs charges.

HMRC may be clamping down, I have had my new phone held by them for 2 weeks, and now have to go an pay import duty and admin fee before they will release it.

It was sent via standard China Mail, as nearly everything I order from China is sent; and this is the first time I have faced a charge for anything this small and this low a value (sub £100).

As for this offer; it looks like a contract phone made by someone using old tech (the cpu is a 2016 model). My bet the parts were being bulk sold at a heavy discount and then slapped together to make a phone*; I have been seeing a lot of these being sold into the European/Russian market by places like Gearbest under various "No Name" brands. It might even be GB themselves having them made to order.

I am also very dubious about some of the hardware claims; Corning Glass on a phone in this price range?? Unlikely.

Chances are, if it goes wrong; there will be no support and no spares; I am also willing to bet there will be no OS or security updates.

* Commonly known as a Frankenphone.
It has got to be worth a punt for £73 for those who are looking for a cheap phone. My Maze Alpha is massive in comparison to other handsets. the 6 inch screen it great but it is a heavy handset - however, while that was noticeable at first it is now the norm but I have put the weight down to the battery in it which I believe to be 4000 nah but even with heavy use,it lasts well over a day.

The camera can take a bit of getting used to, the front facing camera is just the weirdest set up I have ever seen as it is located at the bottom right of the handset, and so, you have to turn the handset around to use it. Not a major issue but one of the trade - offs I guess.

For £73, what would you expect? Even if I paid £150 for this I would not expect support or spares. It is the price you pay for getting a cheap handset really. I paid £160 for my Maze Alpha. If it packs in I won't be contacting the seller for help, I will simply purchase another phone. The prices of the new flagship handsets these days are absolutely unreal. When they cost the best part of a £1000, there is little wonder that people are turning to cheaper phones. Yes, you will have to forfeit some things, but I would rather do that than give the likes of Apple or Samsung a lot of money for something that does exactly the same but just has better parts in it.....

At Chinese prices as you say, Just get another one if you lose it or smash it
If you order from Gearbest don't make the mistake I did. Wanted it delivered faster so paid for DHL and got stuck with £28 duty. I've bought stuff before from Gearbest and used the slow delivery and never got duty charge
Malware...? Not suggesting there is, just wondering.

And 508ppi on a 5.7 screen...?

I'm SERIOUSLY tempted. Hot.

But you CAN get support and updates on a cheap phone, just buy a Xiaomi. My first Xiaomi cost me £80 and is still getting updates 4 years later.
Their poverty spec 5a can be had for ~£60 so it makes no sense to buy something like this, from a company with no name and no known support; the Note 4 can be had for ~£100, and the new Note 5 for ~£140; all of which have a far better chance of still being working in 2 years time.

The ONLY reason I am on my 4th Xiaomi, is because I lost one, and dropped another in the bath, my original is still in daily use as my daughters mediaplayer/games machine.

Which reminds me, no.4 just arrived 15 minutes ago, time to go set it up.

£18 is the limit under the customs rules and don’t forget the post office charge you £8 on top of any customs charges levied.
Still waiting for my X18 plus ordered more than one month ago from Gearbest.

There was a recent glut of RAM/ROM chips, so it costs them almost nothing to add extra - especially as it is highly unlikely you will ever get to use the extra RAM - it is a gimmick.

Dual SIM usually means only one active 4G or 3G and one secondary 3G/2G; only a few phones have advertised capability of running 2 4G SIMs, and even fewer that can run both at the same time.

4,000mAH battery is nothing special, and is also meaningless - unless you know how much juice the phone is going to draw, and that comes down to the chipset and screen. This chipset is several years old, so likely to use more than one of the latest chipsets; it is also tied to a huge screen, which is probably the biggest drain for any phone.

Disagree, if value declared and over £18 or whatever it is nowadays, you will get a tax and handling fee demand

I was going by a comment on GearBest. Stand corrected.
Nice too see a different material for a phones back panel.

Only negative for me is that camera surround.

Makes phone look like an extra from Transformers!
£155 at Amazon. Nice mark up for them.
Does it has preinstalled Google play?
