Be aware that MBNA will dump you to a debt collection within weeks of missing a payment. They do not hang onto anyone looking as if they will default.

This will attract those who may want to reduce their monthly payments and so at more risk. Check out Securitisation for how your debt is parcelled up and sold as an investment to the great and the good. This is how they make money from the % free offer.
I have found the Moneysavingexpert eligibility checker flawed. I have most of the cards it tells me I'm not eligible for, two of which have a £10k limit. I have also tested it with some friends, they too have had similar results to myself.

I refuse to believe a multinational bank would do such a thing, we know they're responsible lenders and only have your best interests at heart. Ha

I would guess it checks your credit file without doing the full credit check and sees you have the card already so wouldn't normally be provided with a second card, though in the case of MBNA they do allow 2 cards but with different names.

No, I checked before I applied for them.
Hmm, I need a BT in a few months time but I already have a Virgin one on a money transfer for an equally long period...I won't be transferring the virgin balance but bet I don't get this as Virgin use MBNA, It's a good deal though.
Virgin havent used mbna for a couple of years, they are now their own bank
Just to clarify its on the virgin atlantic amex cards that are still mbna issued

Me too, says I have no chance of getting a low APR card. I already have a 6% card strange
Miss a payment and get chased for it. SHOCK.

If you miss your min or monthly repayment, a credit card is not for you.

MBNA, unlike many lenders, do not put up with financial difficulties even if temporary.

True, but life changes and if you are, say, made redundant MBNA would stuff you much quicker than many others.

The second week of January the company I was employed by for over 10 ceased trading with no warning. Wages, overtime and expenses etc unpaid. Due to some dodginess with the transfer of assets to another company we've been denied redundancy payments. I'm so out of pocket it's scary.

Surely this is why you regularly save each month?
