Cheaper to simply crack open your machine and remove a bank of RAM if you want to slow your machine down.

Good price but it's McAfee....

Not voted cold as in fairness to the op this is a good price, but for all of the other reasons noted above (which I agree with), I wouldn’t let this near any of my machines so can’t vote hot.
It's Friday, this is super cheap so I voted hot even though I wouldn't install on any PC that I might have to deal with. McAfee is poop but if you're insistent on using it this is a good price.
What AV would people recommend for a low spec AMD laptop?

AVG free- does the job, would also download anti malware bytes which is also free and just have those two, don’t see why people pay for anti virus... as long as you aren’t silly and believe everything you click or download files from places which are suspicious then you’ll be fine with AVG free

Reasonably sure the free version of Malwarebytes offers no active protection, just a manually instigated scan+clean or let's-attempt-to-undo-the-mess-after-the-event function. Just sayin.

Agree with this, though Avast uses the same engine & is slightly less 'naggy' to upgrade

I personally use Kaspersky ( hotukdeals.com/dea…846 ) but it's no good for individuals who lap up mainstream news without question, swallowing the anti-Russia propaganda
