McAfee Internet Security 2008-3 user Licence - £6.05 + P&P @ Microdirect

This is the OEM version, but does exactly the same job as the retail without the box. As it has a licence for 3 PC's, it has to be a bargain.

I wouldn't use it if it was free....

In fact, I use freeware that's better.

What so wrong with Mcafee

Each to their own, but I have used it for 2 years without any resource issues, so try it and see.

I thought McAfee is a virus!

It’s certainly a good price; I’m not going to comment on its efficacy as I haven’t used it.

nothing is wrong with mcAfee but why pay money for it when AVG is free and it does the same thing !!!!!! a great price though i remember paying £22 3 years ago ....

I bought this when it was posted a while back. No issues here and would happily buy it again.

Avira Antivir is voted one of, if not the best AV's around, and it costs nothing.

And for the people saying they've used it for so long without getting any virii, answer me this question -
If you have an AV program that doesn't protect you against virii that well, how do you know you haven't got any? If it doesn't spot them you'll never know.

As well as reviews all over the net, I've run my own tests, and the likes of McAfee and Norton never fair well against the competition...

If you want a 'big name' antivirus that's cheap, feel free to buy this, if you want one that works (whether it's freeware or paid for), you should look elsewhere.

No security product is perfect, Avira(personal) has issues regarding cleansing virusses and only updates once a day, AVG also only updates once a day....this is a suite, which for a lot of people will mean ease of use and set and forget....more recent mcafee products have been stable, less resource hungry and have better detection rates...voted HOT.

Oh, and I use AVG on one laptop and Avira personal on the other with ZoneAlarm, both AVG and Avira scan for virusses and spyware.

Mc Afee is really good - keeps my Panda antivirus busy . Every time I use my USB stick in Learning zone of my College ( having fully updated McAfee) I bring some viruses on it.

I don't know about any cleansing issues with AntiVir, I used it last week to wipeout my brother-in-laws virus infested PC (he was using Norton AV, it detected some of the Virii but couldn't get rid of any of them). I installed AntiVir, booted into safe mode and cleaned out the whole lot, no probs...

I've added a price and retailer name to the thread title, and an image. Thanks. Please see the links in my signature for help on posting deals.

Just trying to be unbiased, I use AntiVir, however, it still has its faults, and on the AV forums it is the only thing it is criticised for, it finds and quarnatines the virusses A1 but clenasing isn't as good as say Kasperski...

I find Mcafee is very resource hungry and slows the PC down far more than comparable versions of norton for example. Voting hot as it's a very good price for a branded version, but I wouldnt have it if it was free.

Unfortunatley you'll always end up with wars on internet security products, but as far as they go McAfee has a good reputation, and for this price it's definatley worth it, if you're looking for a cheap alternative from freeware. Also McAfee is a well known brand and you'd be pushed to find another product for this great value. Personall I grabbed the Kaspersky offer a few weeks ago, good deal, voted hot.
