Dont do it.... No matter how cheap it is... get AVG insead for free....

In the long run this will block your computer up solid....

I don't like McAfee. I get Kaspersky free via Barclays.

HOWEVER, I have still voted this hot as it IS the cheapest price for McAfee 2010 IS around at the moment.:)

Do we forget that that is about finding the cheapest prices for items and voting hot or cold depending on it, NOT because you don't like the product:x

It'll make you computer sooooo sloooooooooo.....

I haven't voted, but as the owner of a computer business that spends most of its time sending out employees to clean up computers which have been jammed up with the crap this product creates, I think it is my duty to warn people just how bad this product is, nearly as bad as Norton...

And because of the problems it creates I dont think it is worth buying, no matter how cheap... as in the long run it will cost you more to get your computer fixed when it blocks up...

And I think you will find that this is not just my opinion....

Even if they paid me to use this - it would still be cold

I like it, hasnt really slowed my pc down and been fine over the last 3 years.
Voted hot, I paid £12.50 for a 3 user licence about a month ago

i am using McAfee for 3 years now and like it very much. hot for me:thumbsup:

I'm with the school of thought that preaches FREE IS CHEAPEST thus its AVG or AVAST for me every time....

the best form of antivirus is your brain!!! pay more attention to what you are doing.. if you don't know what a certain file/website is... then don't open or go onto it.. plug a hole in your curiosity and you will secure your computer much better than ronseal does the job for wood :-D!!!

I'm with the school of thought that preaches you get what you pay for, esp with Av software...

AV software (like operating systems) all have their fans and their haters, just a case of personal preference - if you find something you like that works for you, then stick with it...be it free or not free..

There, I'll climb down off my soapbox now if anybody else wants to use it...

Chris

Sorry had to comment, for those people that say use a free protection system, all I can say is that you get what you pay for! Norton is by far the best, but of course is the most expensive. McAfee doesn't impact on the running of you system more than the rest of the products do. Good deal!

There was no resource hogger worse than Norton. Would kill any pc dead eventually. That is until NIS 2009 came out. Totally different to previous versions, hardly notice it's there at all and is an exellent security package aswell.

I've got it on all my pc's now and they're all great. Instantly found trojans on them all on the first scan that AVG didnt even recognise as being there, and that was the paid for version of AVG so god knows how poor the free one is.

AVG was much better was it was Ewido.

Could people marking this as cold perhaps explain why...??

Exactly, voted hot

i'd have to say hot - mcafee user for over 10 years now, and not one virus or anything

not sure about the slow comments either, even when running a scan, it's not that power hungry

Don't do it unless you want your computer full of nasties pinching your cc details :whistling:

Hot for me although I personally prefer kaspersky.

AVG free/AVAST/AVIRA

All free for a reason.

CRAP
LIMITED
PROTECTION.

when will you people realise that?

if you value your PC and its contents, pay for a decent security software.
free AV is just like those samples of pasties at Greggs.
just a taster of what you could have if you bought the full thing

the beta program works fine on my win7 box and beta is free

Great price. I wasn't a fan of McAfee a few years ago but they've sorted themselves out and now it is a very good product.

Hot from me. If your computer is ancient, use Avast. If you have a half decent computer, buy this!

EDIT: I forgot to add, How does the OP know what this includes? OEM software versions can be 'cut down' versions. Is this definitely the full monty?

I ran this on my PC and it slowed everything down, still a good price if your happy with the product.

I'd rather have a virus on my machine than this turd. Why pay £8.36 when there are far better free alternatives?
